Our Group Strategy team is responsible for developing, communicating and implementing Vodafone’s strategy for the entire Vodafone Group. The team are at the helm of changing the long-term direction of the organisation, considering emerging technologies and challenges. You will have the opportunity to influence this change, by leading high profile projects end to end.

 

Presenting to the Steering and Executive Committee’s and working closely with Commercial, Operations and Technology teams across all Vodafone geographies. You will be the company’s radar, setting business strategy and narrative, leveraging data to identify opportunities and threats across the telco and tech landscape. Generating commercially actionable ideas and setting Vodafone’s strategic priorities and ensuring its execution in collaboration with OpCos and Group.

What you’ll do

 

  • Define and lead the annual strategy process for the Group ensuring key questions are identified, priorities are defined, stakeholders are involved, and strategy is translated into execution. 
  • Act as a thought leader continuously scanning for trends in the landscape igniting new discussions and strategic projects in Vodafone. 
  • Generate strategic insights on future TMT trends; build deep technical expertise in specific areas; translate strategic thinking into commercially actionable ideas. 
  • Helps coordinate monthly reporting of commercial KPIs, including insights, to the Vodafone Group Executive Committee and Board and communicates relevant narratives on trends and implications for Vodafone.
  • Develop in-depth strategic projects that shape and set the future direction of Vodafone.
  • Manage and lead full end to end projects focused on key strategic topics.
  • Define the approach, methodology and structure to an ambiguous problem statement into structured workstreams with clear deliverables. 
  • Drives coordination across the strategy community from OpCos enabling the sharing of ideas, discussion of strategic topics and best practice sharing. 
  • Socialises current thinking on market trends and implications and challenges ideas to arrive at new opportunities for the business.
  • Be a facilitator / sparring partner / trusted advisor for Senior leaders, Group Functions and Markets.

Who you are

 

  • Previous experience in a top Strategy Consulting firm or in a Corporate Strategy role.
  • Able to deal with complexity, ambiguity & explain complex issues in a simple way.
  • You will have a strong background working on key strategic projects providing analytical and research insights. 
  • Demonstrate a confident, structured and engaging approach in your thinking and communication, as well as experience influencing senior stakeholders.   
  • Highly analytical and numerate, quick thinker, and strategic mind-set, with ability to systematically break down complex problems
  • Experience in emerging technologies or in a Digital native or Tech company.
  • Degree in either Business, Economics or related studies (MA, MSc or equivalent university degree).
  • 8+ years of experience in consulting, commercial or project management roles.
