The purpose of this role is to manage strategic and tactical logistics operations in the market ensuring that supply chain management is fully integrated with business strategies.
 

This role manages the activities within the Logistics and Supply planning function, to include but not limited to – supply planning, inventory management, order management, customs requirements, warehousing operations, forward and reverse distribution, return & reuse and resell & recycle operations in the market. This role is responsible for identifying risks, determining future requirements and implementing methodologies to streamline processes.

 

Logistics Manager role will have end to end accountability of the market logistics performance by ensuring excellent execution of global standard operating models in line with global logistics strategy of Vodafone group while on the other hand will be a key player in the global logistics governance to implement the further transformation projects across all Vodafone markets

What will you do here?

 

  • Responsible for designing and implementing projects, governance and continuous improvement opportunities in Logistics, through a solid understanding of the environment and working alongside stakeholders within Supply Chain Management, the business and external partners.
  • Implement and execute Logistics strategy in the local market.
  • Uses judgement based on functional knowledge of inventory and is expected to resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience, including: Use of methodologies to avoid over ordering / overstocking items in local markets and optimizing inventory availability at lowest cost.
  • Uses tools such as Vendor Managed Inventory (VIM), Just in Time (JIT), Last Time Buys (LTB) to minimize working capital and inventory risk, in support of zero inventory concept.
  • Helps to identify process improvement and optimization opportunities, defining best practices and ensuring Supply Chain Management processes complement one another and deliver value.
  • Support all business functional changes and assess the impacts on Network & Enterprise logistics. Review high level designs identifying information gaps, technical risks and to assess resource requirements for, process documentation and implementation planning to govern the delivery of the business function demand
  • Tracks value associated with deployed initiatives and provides insight to senior management.
  • Full people management responsibility for a team of professionals. Defines team operating standards, sets direction and enables performance.
  • Typically reports to Regional Head of Logistics.

What knowledge and skills do we expect?

 

Essential

 

  • Process & Performance Analytics - Able to deconstruct and analyze processes, producing effective outcomes via the creation of and use of visual representation of captured data. Able to communicate and present insights and efficiently using statistics and/or graphical representation. Make recommendations and enable decisions that can be directly linked to Supply Chain Management and the wider business objectives.
  • System & Process Transformation - Challenge the existing systems and processes by using tangible reference points to propose / implement efficiency opportunities to drive simplicity, speed and improved user experience.
  • Distribution Operations - Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
  • Warehousing Operations - Knowledge on strategic purchasing, logistics drivers, negotiations with vendors. Knowledge on receiving and storing product effectively and improving by designing and development efficient movement and storage systems.
  • Inventory Management - Knowledge on managing inventory levels, naming stock, tracking material requests, reorder dates, forecasting, pricing, inventory costs, variants and organizing all aspects of inventory.
  • English and Czech speaker needed

 

Desirable

 

  • 8+ years of applicable work experience in Logistics operations management (warehousing, inbound outbound distribution and customs operations).
  • Experience in people management and proven leadership skills.
  • Excellence in internal and external stakeholder management and business partnering.
