About this Role

We are seeking an individual with strong big data and advanced AI/ML capability to help unlock value from data across on‑prem and cloud environments (AWS preferred). The role focuses on building diagnostic systems using causal and decision-theory approaches, developing predictive, prescriptive and “Next Best Action” solutions, and enabling intelligent autonomous systems that continuously learn and improve with minimal human involvement.

What you’ll do

    • Demonstrate passion and a learning mindset to adopt new data practices and tools  across ingestion, transformation, governance, and security & privacy, working across onprem and cloud environments (AWS preferred).
    • Influence and contribute to innovative approaches that unlock value from companywide and external data.
    • Design and build diagnostic systems using decision theory and causal models (including probability, DAG, ADMG, deterministic SME approaches, and related techniques) to predict the effects of actions and improve insight-led decision-making.
    • Productise diagnostic systems so they can be reused at scale.
    • Build robust predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions across AI disciplines (ML, DL, NLP, ES, RL) with scalability and real-time performance in mind.
    • Determine “Next Best Action” outcomes using prescriptive analytics methods.
    • Drive intelligent autonomous system utility by creating stable learning environments and improving precision over time.
    • Build autonomous cognitive systems that prescribe proactive actions based on ML predictions and actively solicit feedback from support functions with minimal human involvement.
    • Apply deep learning approaches across CNNs, RNNs and MLPs, and use modern ML/DL libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, NumPy, Pandas, statsmodels, Theano and XGBoost.

Who you are

  • Passionate about learning and applying modern data practices and tooling across on‑prem and cloud environments (AWS preferred).
  • Experienced in building diagnostic systems using causal models and decision theory, with the ability to productise solutions for reuse.
  • Able to deliver predictive, prescriptive and real-time AI solutions, including “Next Best Action” outcomes.
  • Experienced in building intelligent autonomous systems that learn continuously and improve precision through feedback loops.
  • Confident applying deep learning methods (CNNs, RNNs, MLPs) and working with leading ML/DL libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, NumPy, Pandas, statsmodels, Theano, XGBoost).
  • At least one AWS certification is preferred.

Not a perfect fit?

Concerned you may not meet every requirement? Vodafone is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. If you are excited about this role but your experience does not align exactly with every aspect of the job description, you are encouraged to apply. You may be the right candidate for this or another opportunity, and the recruitment team will support you in exploring where your skills fit best.

What's in it for you

  • Opportunities to work on both on‑prem and cloud (AWS preferred) data and AI solutions, spanning ingestion, governance, security and privacy practices.
  • The chance to build reusable diagnostic and prescriptive systems that enable insight-led decision-making and proactive operations.
  • A role with scope to shape innovative approaches to unlocking value from companywide and external data.

What skills you will learn

  • Deeper practical expertise in productising causal/diagnostic systems for reuse at scale.
  • Advanced patterns for building real-time prescriptive learning systems and “Next Best Action” decisioning.
  • Approaches for creating stable learning environments and feedback loops for autonomous cognitive systems.
