About this Role

As an Assistant Manager within the VCI Operations team, this role is designed to support Exadata operations and Oracle database environments. The individual will be responsible for maintaining high availability and performance across clustered database systems, contributing to the stability and scalability of mission-critical infrastructure. This position is a replacement due to attrition and is based at the SP Office in Pune.

You are a collaborative and detail-oriented professional with at least four years of experience in Oracle and Exadata database administration. You bring a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You are open-minded and solution-oriented, with a strong foundation in datacentre delivery and a clear approach to enabling effective product and service development.

What you will do

  • Administer and support Oracle RAC database machines across versions 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c and above.
  • Manage Exadata operations and utilise Oracle Enterprise Manager for monitoring and optimisation.
  • Perform tasks related to Oracle Data Guard, Golden Gate, ASM, and RAC.
  • Implement and support Oracle database migrations and upgrades, including environments using Oracle Data Guard.
  • Conduct software installations, upgrades, migrations, backup configurations, and patch applications.
  • Assist in capacity planning and performance tuning.
  • Execute recovery tasks using tools such as ZDLRA and ZFS.

What skills you need

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as an Oracle DBA and Exadata DBA.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and Golden Gate.
  • Experience with Oracle Clusterware in a clustered environment.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery tools such as ZDLRA and ZFS.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A positive and collaborative approach to work.
  • OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) experience is an added advantage.
