About this Role
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Kubernetes DevOps Engineer to design, build, optimise and maintain enterprise‑grade public cloud platforms, primarily on AWS and Kubernetes. The role involves supporting mission‑critical infrastructure, modernising legacy systems into cloud‑native solutions, and enabling automation, reliability and scalability across Vodafone’s global environments. The ideal candidate brings strong DevOps, Kubernetes, cloud automation and troubleshooting expertise, along with experience managing complex deployments and collaborating across multi‑functional teams.
What you will do
- Manage project‑driven integration and daily administration of cloud solutions.
- Interpret, modify and manage Helm Charts for various environments including development, testing and production.
- Deploy applications on Kubernetes using Helm Charts, manifest files and CI/CD tools such as ArgoCD, GOCD and Jenkins.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application deployment issues across cloud and containerised environments.
- Build Dockerfiles and container images for both frontend and backend applications.
- Provide technical solutioning input across the DevOps domain.
- Lead customer interfacing activities and onboard applications onto Kubernetes clusters.
- Drive cloud automation and integration activities for AWS and tenant workloads.
- Maintain Terraform codebases and build/deploy AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
- Provide consultancy to migrate and transform on‑premises applications into public cloud environments.
- Develop DevOps capabilities and knowledge across teams.
- Ensure effective troubleshooting for cloud network, storage and performance‑related issues.
- Support the adoption and reinforcement of DevOps culture, tooling and methodologies.
Who you are
- Strong expertise in AWS cloud technology, networking, security and platform services.
- Proficient with DevOps tools including Git, Terraform, and EKS.
- Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes, including services, service accounts, network policies, secrets, configMaps, deployments and monitoring.
- Skilled in Docker, container image creation and CI processes.
- Broad understanding of AWS services such as VPC, EC2, ECS, S3, EBS, Glacier, ELB and Elastic IPs.
- Experience working with AWS CloudWatch, CodeBuild, CodeCommit, ArgoCD and GitOps methodologies.
- Knowledge of automation tools including Terraform and CloudFormation templates.
- Strong communication and documentation capabilities.
- Degree in Information Technology or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of cloud computing experience or 5 years in enterprise IT.
- Familiar with ITIL, SOX and security regulations.
- Experience in programming or systems analysis using agile frameworks.
- Exposure to web applications, hosting, business‑critical environments and DevOps practices in cloud settings.
- Preferably certified as AWS Cloud Engineer / AWS Professional Cloud Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer.
- Telecom industry experience is an advantage.
