What you’ll do
Role purpose:
The Commission Partner Markets Lead has the direct ownership for the whole commission calculation process of all Partner Market OpCos using RIVA (or other engine like Callidus) as the main commission calculation system. This initially includes the UK (RIVA) & Italy (Callidus) and Germanymarkets. Furthermore, the role also acts as a key business partner for commercial sales managers to drive customer acquisition & retention, revenues and value and is responsible to define and implement efficient and effective incentive schemes for dealers and employees. The role will closely collaborate with the commercial teams of the relevant OpCos and will have a veto right to prevent any damage from the company e.g. in case of fraud or schemes causing revenue leakage.
Strategically this role is accountable for the continuously development of the RIVA based commission calculation solutions with the focus on the needs of the OpCos and to drive radical simplification where possible and senseful. The Head of Channel Commission Partner Markets will focus on optimizing and, above all, harmonizing the current regionally oriented processes. The central priority is to ensure and develop further a commercially secure, standardized and efficient commission process, making sure expert know-how is assured at any time and robust to fluctuations whenever needed.
The role is responsible for the correct calculation and payment of appr. 700 Mio. EUR commission yearly investment and will supervise all local 2nd line assurance controls particularly regarding the early detection of fraud during commission run and alignment with sales, the identification of source errors in the IT environment and the analysis of cancelled orders and optimization of clawback rules.
Lead a multinational and multicultural diverse team of appr. 65 people across multiple locations to ensure effective and efficient operations. In addition to process and system orientation, this role therefore requires a high level of experience in employee management and in building virtual and international teams. A key challenge is to build a global team that conveys a sense of team spirit and togetherness despite the different regional assignment of the employees. The role ensures a steady and strong relationship and performance management within the RIVA core markets and the other Vodafone local markets and the CCD.
Who you are
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
• Set Vision/Strategy and lead/direct/develop Channel Commission teams of the relevant OpCos; lead mid- and large-scale transformation initiatives
• Maintain and grow the Capability of Channel Commission to drive revenue, value and efficiency for VF
• Set Transformation/Digital/SSO Strategy across all relevant markets and steer its fulfilment plus identify as well as lead delivery of continuous improvements in productivity and efficiency, ensuring associated cost savings are captured
• Lead teams spread across the relevant markets and develop robust pool of talent to step into leadership roles across teams/markets as well as be a role-model in collaborating with the wider CSO Team and influence all relevant Vodafone internal and external key stakeholders
• Accountable for operational excellence and output quality of Channel Commission processes and services
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
• Leadership skills and experience in building and managing virtual and cross-cultural teams in a complex and changing/dynamic operating environment
• Converged finance and commercial telco industry competencies along with economic correlations
• Channel Commissions is a multi-process non-standard service, therefore good knowledge of all CBM processes is needed (P2P, OTC, R2R, TCM) and how they apply to this CoE function
• Strong IT/digitization knowledge and deep understanding of the diverse opportunities around data and technology
• Communication and presentation skills to influence multiple stakeholders
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
• University degree with professional finance qualification
• Long term experience in Channel Commission
• Experience in telecommunications industry
• Experience in leading virtual teams across multiple countries and legal entities
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
Budget owned:
Financial impact €700+m p.a. to VF bottom line; Accountable for the relevant local Channel commission line-budgets
Direct reports: In total appr. 65 FTE
