About this Role
What you’ll do
- Design, develop and debug complex SQL and PL/SQL queries in GCP BigQuery.
- Build and maintain cloud‑based data infrastructure using Google Cloud services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, App Engine and Cloud Run.
- Collaborate closely with data engineers and analytics teams to process and optimise large‑scale datasets.
- Ensure best practices for performance, security, scalability and reliability of cloud‑native data applications.
- Write unit tests and technical documentation to ensure long‑term maintainability and code quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production cloud environments with a proactive and structured approach.
- Apply data warehousing principles and data processing frameworks to support analytical and reporting use cases.
Who you are
- 5–8 years of relevant professional experience in data engineering or cloud data platforms.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, with hands‑on experience using GCP BigQuery.
- Practical experience with GCP components such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Data Fusion, Cloud Functions, App Engine or Cloud Run.
- Working knowledge of Python and cloud‑native development concepts.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and database systems (SQL and NoSQL).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and debugging skills.
- Graduate or post‑graduate qualification in a technical discipline, preferably Engineering or Computer Science.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively in global, distributed teams and adapt to a changing environment.
