About this Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Modelling Specialist to join the Vodafone Germany CIM ART team, which owns the Customer Data Hub stack. This role focuses on designing robust, scalable and high-quality data models that represent Vodafone’s information assets and enable value creation through business intelligence. You will collaborate closely with business users, source system owners and technical teams to define sustainable data modelling solutions that support analytics, reporting and long-term data strategy.

What you will do

 

  • Design and maintain enterprise-grade data models within the BI environment to ensure data quality, consistency and usability
  • Define sustainable modelling solutions that balance ETL efficiency, system performance and future scalability
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand, support and anticipate evolving data needs
  • Act as a subject matter expert for assigned data model domains, providing guidance across teams
  • Work hands-on with ETL development teams to translate models into implemented solutions
  • Gather requirements and convert them into clear, effective technical designs
  • Ensure compliance with data governance standards, data quality principles and software development methodologies
  • Contribute to long-term data warehousing strategies and align current ETL designs with future objectives
  • Lead and recommend modelling approaches for complex business scenarios across relational and non-relational platforms

Who you are

 

  • An experienced IT professional with 8–10 years of overall experience, including work as a data or business analyst
  • A data modeller with 4+ years of hands-on experience using tools such as erwin Data Modeler, Enterprise Architect or ER/Studio
  • Skilled in designing data models for both relational and non-relational database systems
  • Comfortable working with SQL and NoSQL technologies, preferably including Teradata, Cloudera and distributed database environments
  • Knowledgeable in data modelling methodologies such as 3NF, Kimball and Inmon
  • Experienced in BI pipeline and data warehousing design initiatives
  • Familiar with MicroStrategy and/or other data reporting and analytics tools
  • Confident working within international, multicultural and distributed teams
  • A structured planner with strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent in English, with Italian language skills considered an advantage
  • Ideally experienced with cloud-based data warehousing architectures and Agile delivery methodologies
