About this Role
We are seeking a DevOps Engineering Lead to ensure the stable, efficient, and reliable operation of business‑critical Data & Analytics platforms as part of the VF DE BI Transformation programme. This role focuses on operational leadership and L2 support for Ab Initio and Teradata Vantage workloads on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), combining deep technical expertise with people leadership, automation mindset, and service ownership. The role plays a key part in maintaining production stability, improving performance, and driving continuous operational improvement across enterprise data platforms.
What you’ll do
- Ensure the smooth daily health and availability of ETL batch processing using Ab Initio and Teradata Vantage on GCP (L2 production support)
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in DWH and BI production ETL jobs within agreed SLAs
- Provide deployment support for new and enhanced applications across the data platform
- Coordinate closely with project managers, development, testing, and cross‑functional teams to support delivery and operations
- Manage incidents and service requests by updating Remedy tickets in line with defined processes and SLAs
- Provide on‑call support for daily batch jobs during night and weekend windows, as required
- Drive automation, innovation, and continuous improvement across existing operational processes
- Identify and implement performance improvements for ETL jobs and platform components
- Work on Google Cloud initiatives including proof‑of‑concepts, IAM management, virtual machines, and Kubernetes
- Demonstrate strong leadership by guiding team members and ensuring operational standards and KPIs are consistently met
Who you are
- 8+ years of experience supporting Ab Initio, Teradata and/or Oracle platforms in production environments
- Strong hands‑on experience with Unix and SQL for troubleshooting and operational support
- Practical experience managing and supporting workloads on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or team‑handling role
- Good understanding of deployment support, batch operations, and service availability management
- Exposure to ITIL practices, including Incident and Service Request Management
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem‑solving skills
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills in English
