About this Role
We are seeking a skilled individual with experience in application deployment and operations within Telecom BSS/OSS environments. This role focuses on managing deployments across production and non-production systems, automating processes, and ensuring system stability while supporting project delivery and operational excellence.
What you will do
- Manage application deployment and promotion of code across multiple environments within agreed service levels
- Implement configuration and software changes in line with approved requests
- Create and maintain automation scripts using tools such as Shell, Python, Groovy, YAML, and JSON
- Investigate and resolve deployment-related incidents, defects, and service requests
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project delivery and testing activities
- Drive improvements in service performance by reducing incidents, problems, and recurring tickets
- Ensure adherence to defined processes, standards, and ITIL practices
- Maintain high system availability and reliability for application services
Who you are
- Experienced in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, GitOps, and GoCD
- Knowledgeable in AWS cloud environments and enterprise application ecosystems
- Familiar with Agile delivery frameworks
- Skilled in application deployments on Apache Tomcat and/or WebLogic application servers
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Unix Shell and Python
- Comfortable working on Linux systems, including use of editors such as Vi; familiarity with Windows servers is beneficial
- Understand ITIL processes and incident management practices
- Able to manage production incidents and collaborate effectively with multiple teams to drive resolution
- Possess a foundational understanding of telecom concepts
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex technical challenges
