About this Role

We are seeking an experienced Endpoint Engineering Specialist to support enterprise endpoint services within Office IT. This role focuses on Microsoft Intune administration, MECM/SCCM operations, Windows imaging and operating system deployment, application packaging, patch management, and endpoint automation. The successful candidate will play a key role in service transition activities, operational delivery, continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining high service quality standards within an SLA-driven environment. This opportunity is suited to technology professionals who enjoy combining operational excellence, automation, and collaboration to deliver reliable endpoint services and enhanced user experiences.

What you will do

  • Execute imaging, packaging, patching, and Intune/MECM operational activities during knowledge transfer and reverse shadow phases. 
  • Own role-specific transition activities, including knowledge transfer, shadowing, readiness assessments, and service acceptance requirements. 
  • Operate endpoint services in accordance with agreed controls, service levels, support models, and escalation procedures. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including runbooks, operational processes, risks, actions, decisions, and service handovers. 
  • Collaborate with Office IT, Service Desk teams, business stakeholders, Vodacom stakeholders, and external suppliers to ensure effective service delivery. 
  • Manage and support MECM/SCCM operations, Microsoft Intune administration, Windows imaging, and operating system deployment. 
  • Diagnose incidents, restore services, and escalate significant risks while maintaining ownership and accountability.
  • Execute operational processes aligned with Incident, Request, Problem, Change, and Release Management practices. 
  • Develop and implement PowerShell scripting and automation to improve efficiency and consistency across endpoint management activities. 
  • Analyse operational trends, recurring issues, and user feedback to drive service improvements and standardisation initiatives. 
  • Leverage monitoring, reporting, logs, alerts, dashboards, and telemetry data to support diagnosis and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver services in line with agreed SLA, KPI, quality, compliance, and operational governance requirements. 

Who you are

  • 5  to 7 years of relevant experience in production support, technology operations, or enterprise service operations.
  • Hands-on expertise in MECM/SCCM operations, Microsoft Intune administration, Windows imaging, and operating system deployment. 
  • Experience with application packaging and deployment, WSUS patching, compliance management, BitLocker, and endpoint diagnostics. 
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and operational automation. 
  • Experience in incident diagnosis, service restoration, knowledge creation, and operational documentation. 
  • Practical experience supporting knowledge transfer, reverse shadowing, and service transition activities. 
  • Strong understanding of ITSM processes, including Incident, Change, Problem, and Release Management. 
  • Experience working within SLA-driven enterprise environments. 
  • ITIL Foundation certification is required for ITSM/governance roles and desirable for other technology roles. 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, markets, stakeholders, and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, and evidence-based decision-making skills. 
  • Graduate degree or equivalent professional experience.
