About this Role
We are seeking a Deputy Manager – Teradata DBA to deliver Teradata Operations and Performance Tuning expertise to multiple customers.
What you will do
- Maintain the Teradata environments which support Vodafone Group’s key business applications.
- Assure correct database configuration and proper documentation of all relevant changes within the DB infrastructure.
- Solve incident & problem tickets and service requests from the 1st level and other departments.
- Support migration of new & changed software, elaborate and perform production checks.
- Manage performance, stability and reliability of the systems.
- Focus on Performance Tuning activities and share Best practice recommendations.
- Publish daily / weekly / monthly status reports to users & IT stakeholders.
- Support for scheduled activities (release support and changes for production).
- Participate in discussions with the development team for new issues in production.
- Vendor management and coordination for issues / fixes.
- Mentor new joiners in the team.
Who you are
- In-depth knowledge of Teradata architecture.
- Experience with Application DBA and Operations DBA tasks like User Management, Space Management, Access Grants/Revoke, DDL/DML reviews.
- Hands-on experience with Backup and Restore tasks using DSA utility.
- Experience working with Workload Management tools like TASM.
- Hands-on experience with Performance Tuning and sharing Best Practice recommendations.
- Knowledge of Linux and python scripting.
- Exceptional customer-facing skills.
- Solid problem-solving skills.
- Ability to train and guide team members.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Readiness to demonstrate a proactive attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
