About this Role

We are seeking an experienced E2E Platforms Architect to contribute to the strategy and reference architecture for digital, integration, and cloud computing within the Platforms Technology team. This role plays a key part in shaping resilient, highly available platforms that leverage cloud-native capabilities such as scalability and automation. You will provide technical leadership, guide platform modernisation initiatives, and ensure alignment with Vodafone’s global technology standards while enabling engineering and delivery teams to build robust and future-ready solutions.

What you’ll do

Define and communicate end-to-end platform strategy, principles, reference architecture, and roadmap for Digital, Cloud, and Integration.Provide architecture governance and design authority, ensuring alignment with global standards, policies, and guidelines.Design and support resilient, scalable, cloud-native platforms across Azure, AWS, GCP, and hybrid environments.Develop reusable architecture assets including patterns, blueprints, templates, and reference implementations.Collaborate with Product, Platform, Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to translate strategy into practical, scalable designs.Drive platform modernisation and stack rationalisation, including migration from legacy environments to target platforms.Promote “as-code” practices such as CI/CD, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code to support efficient engineering delivery.Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and vendor capabilities to enhance platform performance, security, and developer experience.Act as a trusted advisor for cloud, digital, and integration architecture across the organisation.Support the development of design libraries for repeatable cloud deployment aligned with the application portfolio.

Who you are

Experienced in presenting complex technical strategies to senior leadership stakeholders, including C-level audiences.Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, including multi-tenancy, virtualisation, orchestration, and scalable systems across AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid environments.Proven expertise in microservices architecture, Kubernetes, and container-based platforms.Skilled in CI/CD, DevOps practices, and infrastructure automation using “as-code” approaches.Knowledge of cloud security principles, IAM, authentication mechanisms, and platform components such as networks, load balancers, and virtual machines.Familiar with front-end architectures, including component-based design, micro-frontends, and headless CMS integration, with working knowledge of frameworks such as React.Understanding of SAFe Agile methodologies and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.Knowledge of TM Forum Open APIs, Open Digital Architecture, and Swagger.Demonstrates ownership, proactive problem-solving, collaborative decision-making, and clear communication skills.
