About this Role

We are seeking a GCP Platform Architecture specialist to act as the subject matter expert for Google Cloud Platform within the VFDE Platform team. This role focuses on designing, building, and optimising scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure. The individual will work closely with solution architects and engineering teams to enable reliable cloud platforms, modern DevOps practices, and serverless solutions that support Vodafone’s technology landscape.

What you’ll do

Design and implement Google Cloud Platform infrastructure with a strong focus on scalability, security, resilience, and cost optimisation.Develop, manage, and optimise CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, ArgoCD, and Cloud Build.Architect and deploy serverless solutions using Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and related GCP services.Configure, manage, and optimise Load Balancers, Managed Instance Groups (MIG), and other compute services.Write, maintain, and enhance Terraform code, including the creation of reusable and custom Terraform modules.Automate operational and platform tasks using Shell scripting or Python.Collaborate with solution architects to design infrastructure aligned with architectural standards for new initiatives.Ensure best practices are applied across security, monitoring, governance, and compliance within GCP environments.

Who you are

An experienced cloud professional with expert-level knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services, including compute, networking, IAM, and serverless technologies.Skilled in DevOps practices with hands-on experience using Jenkins, ArgoCD, and Cloud Build.Highly proficient in Terraform, including designing and maintaining custom modules for GCP.Experienced in Cloud Run and other GCP serverless components.Comfortable working with load balancing, managed compute services, and GCP networking concepts.Confident in automation using Shell scripting and/or Python.Able to design and review infrastructure solutions from an architectural perspective.A collaborative communicator with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
