This is a global role across VOIS and extremely critical position helping deliver the organization's safe secure & compliant agenda. It is an overarching role that will have an impact on risk operations across the VOIS footprint aimed at bringing consistency, consolidation and collaboration amongst the existing and new territories. The person should possess commercial knowledge and enterprise risk SME understanding with an ability to structure and oversee an effective ERM framework and to coach and guide all business units on effective risk management practice to enable the business to achieve its business objectives. The person will be accountable to lead the following strategic areas of Enterprise Risk Management:
- Risk framework design and implementation
- VSOL and VOIS Top Risk Management
- Centre and Functions Top Risk Management
- ‘Transition Risk’ Management
- Governance & Reporting
- Senior Stakeholder Management, including the GMT, RCC, Internal and External Audit and the VSOL Board as required
- People management (both direct reports and community building, influencing)
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Design and implement VSOL/VOIS ERM framework across all international geographies and business lines
- Manage the top risk finalization process incl. Leadership, VOIS Tower and Centre LT survey and interviews
- Act as a senior risk business partner for risk owners and champions, supporting them to create control frameworks, papers and reporting in a way that enables the business to manage downside risk but also identify and make informed decisions on risk taking as a commercial opportunity
- Oversee the Line of Sight (LoS) report creation and guide risk owners/champions in this activity in a way that really gets to the heart of the risk issues at hand and is in no way tick box or cursory. The individual will need a solid understanding of external geopolitics and best practice in order to be able to advise and consult effectively.
- Oversee the risk register maintenance & monitor mitigation action completion
- Collaborate with risk-domain expert community and transitions team to drive the ‘Risk Management within Transitions’ process
- Lead a team of direct reports including the centre risk managers.
- Responsible for all people management activities including hiring & retention, talent development & performance management
- Plan and organise VOIS and Centre Risk Committees, facilitating crisp and effective discussions and decisions on ERM amongst senior stakeholders
- Prepare and present reports at governance forums including Group ARC and VSOL ARC
- Lead submissions of VOIS top risks in line with group requirements on Risk sense
- Act as liaising point between group risk, centre risk teams and risk owners/champions re. group deliverables, new initiatives and reporting
Who you are
Core competencies, knowledge and experience
- Hands-on with Enterprise Risk domain, ideally with formal external qualifications/ relevant experience including in related areas such as audit
- Commercial Acumen and ability to deal with high ambiguity/ complex situations
- Joint venture entity risk management
- Program Management
- Strategic thinking and problem solving
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence and manage diverse stakeholders incl. VOIS GMT, LARC LT, risk owners/champions, risk-domain expert community, group and centre risk teams across geographies
- Ability to maneuver through complex environment and lead teams reporting directly and in matrix structure
Technical / professional qualifications:
- Degree level educated, ideally with relevant postgraduate certifications and training
- 15+ years of professional experience in large, complex corporate environments/ in an external consultancy with on the ground field experience in a corporate environment
- Experience in implementing enterprise risk framework and maturing the approach over time to adapt in a VUCA world
- Leading and influencing teams across functions
