About this Role
What you’ll do
- Manage Linux server build and uplift activities for physical and virtual server environments.
- Install operating system software in line with the appropriate version, release and patch level.
- Support operating system upgrades, migrations and rollback of OS or kernel versions.
- Perform Linux user and group management activities.
- Create and manage file systems in Linux, including LVM, NAS and SAN-related environments.
- Apply knowledge of the Linux boot process, RPM package installation and Linux installation procedures.
- Configure Unix system components, including kernel, user and Yum configuration.
- Support OS patching, rollback and Satellite-based operating system installation activities.
- Troubleshoot server booting issues and other operating system issues at L1/L2 level.
- Support BAU activities and uplift requests through effective Linux administration and troubleshooting.
Who you are
- You have 5 to 8 years of experience in core Linux administration.
- You have practical knowledge of Linux installation, OS upgrades, migration, patching and rollback.
- You understand Linux boot processes, user and group management, RPM package installation and file system creation.
- You have exposure to LVM, NAS, SAN and Satellite-based OS installation.
- You can troubleshoot server boot and operating system issues in a structured and service-focused way.
- You bring clear, solution-oriented thinking and communication to support effective product and service delivery.
