About this Role

We are seeking an experienced Linux Infrastructure Administrator to join the DCOPS Linux Operations team in Pune. You will provide advanced technical support across Linux infrastructure, diagnose complex hardware and operating-system issues, and manage incidents, service requests and changes within agreed service-level commitments.
As a senior technical authority within the team, you will lead complex troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and permanent remediation. You will also support critical incidents, contribute to infrastructure maintenance and migrations, improve technical standards, and help optimise Linux services through automation and architectural enhancements. The position includes on-call responsibilities as part of a 24x7 support model.

What you will do

  • Provide technical support for Linux infrastructure and resolve complex hardware and operating-system issues.
  • Administer and troubleshoot RHEL Linux and Oracle Linux environments.
  • Manage server-related incidents, service requests and change requests within defined service-level commitments.
  • Act as a senior technical authority and provide guidance on complex operational issues.
  • Lead advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and the implementation of permanent fixes.
  • Support P1 and P2 incidents, major service outages and performance-related issues.
  • Perform Linux infrastructure maintenance and migration activities.
  • Recommend improvements that enhance platform stability, service performance and operational efficiency.
  • Define and improve technical standards, standard operating procedures and best practices.
  • Mentor L1 and L2 teams and provide technical guidance.
  • Collaborate across products, vendors and geographical locations to develop effective solutions.
  • Contribute to architectural improvements, automation design and optimisation initiatives.
  • Participate in an on-call rota to support 24x7 operations.

Who you are

  • You have strong knowledge of RHEL Linux and Oracle Linux administration.
  • You have practical experience diagnosing and resolving Linux hardware, operating-system and performance issues.
  • You understand enterprise incident, service-request and change-management processes.
  • You can lead complex troubleshooting and structured root-cause analysis.
  • You have experience supporting business-critical P1 and P2 incidents and major outages.
  • You can develop permanent fixes and recommend improvements to platform stability and performance.
  • You have knowledge of Veritas Cluster Server, DRCC and Microsoft Azure.
  • You can create and improve technical standards, operating procedures and best practices.
  • You can guide and mentor L1 and L2 technical teams.
  • You work effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors and colleagues across different geographical locations.
  • You communicate clearly and apply open-minded, solution-oriented thinking.
  • You are comfortable participating in an on-call rota within a 24x7 operational support environment.
