About this Role
What you’ll do
Understand source systems, business requirements, metadata and profiling outputs to develop effective data models.
Design Data Vault 2.0 structures including Hubs, Links, Satellites and Reference Data.
Create data warehouse and dimensional models including facts, dimensions and star schemas.
Define business keys, relationships, lineage, historisation and data quality rules.
Prepare source-to-target mappings, entity definitions and modelling documentation.
Partner with architects, engineers, product owners and subject matter experts to validate and deliver data models.
Support dbt and AutomateDV implementation using metadata-driven design patterns.
Ensure solutions are scalable, auditable and aligned with enterprise data modelling standards on GCP and BigQuery.
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in data modelling, data warehousing, data architecture or large-scale data platform delivery.
You possess strong expertise in Data Vault 2.0, dimensional modelling, facts, dimensions and star schemas.
You have hands-on SQL skills and can analyse source systems, metadata and profiling outputs effectively.
You have practical experience working with GCP, BigQuery and cloud-based data platforms.
You are familiar with dbt, AutomateDV, YAML, testing approaches and version-controlled delivery practices.
You can create logical, physical and source-to-target data models.
You understand data lineage, auditability, historisation and data quality management.
You communicate modelling concepts clearly to both business and technical stakeholders.
Exposure to enterprise systems such as CRM, billing, order management, product, customer, service or asset platforms will be advantageous.
Experience of Agile delivery, modelling tools, data governance, privacy, security and metadata management is beneficial.
