About this Role

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database and GoldenGate specialist to administer production databases and support critical database operations. Based at SP Infocity, Pune, the role requires 6 to 10 years of experience in application database administration, Oracle GoldenGate, database performance, migration, high availability, security and operational support. You will work as an individual contributor, collaborating closely with application teams and supporting high-priority issues through an on-call arrangement.

What you’ll do

  • Administer production databases and support business-critical database operations.
  • Manage database architecture, data replication and transaction consistency.
  • Perform user-access management, security audits and SOX compliance activities.
  • Plan and deliver database upgrades and migrations, including integration with other relational database management systems.
  • Configure and support high-availability database environments.
  • Administer Oracle Database and Oracle GoldenGate environments.
  • Monitor databases using tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager and Datadog.
  • Collaborate with application teams to investigate and resolve operational issues.
  • Use ticketing tools to manage incidents, requests and database-support activities.
  • Provide on-call support for high-priority database incidents.
  • Support DML operations, SQL optimisation and database-performance tuning.
  • Diagnose performance bottlenecks and application-functionality delays.
  • Manage database backup and recovery activities.
  • Develop and maintain scripts that automate routine operational and maintenance activities. 

Who you are

  • You have 6 to 10 years of experience in application database administration and operational support.
  • You have advanced working knowledge of Oracle Database and Oracle GoldenGate, including versions 11g and 19c.
  • You have experience working with AWS cloud environments.
  • You understand database, memory, storage and cluster architectures.
  • You have practical experience in database configuration, SQL optimisation and performance tuning.
  • You can identify database bottlenecks and investigate issues affecting application performance.
  • You understand data replication, transaction consistency, high availability, backup and recovery.
  • You have experience supporting database upgrades and end-to-end migration activities.
  • You have strong knowledge of UNIX, shell scripting and at least one additional scripting language, such as Perl.
  • You can collaborate effectively with application teams and communicate clear, solution-focused recommendations.
  • Experience in the telecommunications sector would be advantageous.
