About this Role

We are seeking an experienced Endpoint & Workplace Technical Lead to provide technical ownership and operational accountability for endpoint workplace services across enterprise environments. This role is responsible for validating endpoint architecture, dependencies, service readiness and technical acceptance, while driving operational excellence, automation, governance and continual service improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in endpoint management technologies, service transition activities and cross-functional collaboration to ensure reliable, secure and scalable workplace services.

What you will do

  • Validate endpoint scope, architecture, dependencies, knowledge transfer activities and technical acceptance criteria.
  • Own transition readiness activities including knowledge transfer, shadowing plans and operational readiness assessments.
  • Operate endpoint services in line with agreed service scope, controls, service hours and escalation procedures.
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation including runbooks, decisions, actions, risks and service handovers.
  • Collaborate with Office IT teams, Service Desk teams, Vodacom stakeholders and technology partners to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Provide technical ownership for MECM/SCCM architecture and support services.
  • Administer and publish solutions through Microsoft Intune.
  • Lead Windows image engineering, deployment and lifecycle management activities.
  • Support application packaging, software distribution and endpoint configuration management.
  • Manage WSUS patching, remediation activities and endpoint compliance controls.
  • Utilise PowerShell, logging tools and operational data to troubleshoot issues and improve service performance.
  • Apply incident, problem, change and release management practices to maintain service quality and stability.
  • Identify service risks, coordinate remediation activities and escalate issues where required.
  • Contribute to endpoint automation initiatives and proactive operational controls.
  • Use operational data, service metrics and user feedback to drive continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Deliver services in accordance with agreed SLA, KPI, compliance and governance requirements.

Who you are

  • 5 to 8 years of experience within enterprise technology, production support or service operations environments.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in MECM/SCCM architecture and support.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Intune administration and application publishing.
  • Experience in Windows image engineering and deployment technologies.
  • Knowledge of application packaging and software distribution processes.
  • Experience with WSUS patching, endpoint remediation and device health management.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and log analysis.
  • Understanding of BitLocker and endpoint security controls.
  • Strong knowledge of service readiness, technical governance and operational support frameworks.
  • Experience in incident management, problem management, change management and release management processes.
  • Familiarity with architecture-to-operations ownership and cross-functional dependency management.
  • Ability to analyse technical challenges and make evidence-based decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working within SLA-driven enterprise environments.
  • ITIL Foundation certification is required.
  • Relevant technology certifications are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of monitoring, telemetry, dashboarding and operational reporting tools.
  • Graduate degree or equivalent professional experience.
