About this Role
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database and Cloud Engineer to design, develop and optimise scalable database solutions for applications supporting the German market. Based in Pune, the role will focus on Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development, database performance, production stability, technical leadership and preparing applications for cloud transition.
What you’ll do
- Design and maintain efficient database schemas, tables and relationships.
- Optimise databases, SQL queries, PL/SQL packages, indexes and resources.
- Monitor and resolve production and non-production issues.
- Investigate technologies and present recommendations for architectural review.
- Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Automate job scheduling and operational activities using relevant scripting tools.
- Promote the adoption of appropriate tools, methods and engineering standards.
- Support the team and application through cloud transition.
- Contribute actively to Agile ceremonies and sprint delivery.
Who you are
- You have 7 to 10 or more years of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development experience.
- You bring 2 to 5 years of technical leadership experience.
- You have expertise in advanced SQL, dynamic query development, database design and performance optimisation.
- You can diagnose complex database issues and recommend practical solutions.
- You understand SDLC, Agile and Scrum practices.
- You have knowledge of Unix or Linux scripting and version-control tools such as Git or SVN.
- You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, computer science or an equivalent discipline.
- Google Cloud certification is required.
- Knowledge of Oracle Analytics Server or another reporting tool and basic Java knowledge are beneficial.
- You understand operating-system, multithreading and concurrency concepts.
- You communicate clearly in written and spoken English and work effectively with distributed, multicultural teams.
