About this Role
What you will do
- Plan, define and execute end-to-end performance and non-functional testing strategies aligned to delivery approach, project risks and business priorities.
- Establish and implement a clear QA and performance testing vision, ensuring consistency, efficiency and continuous improvement across programmes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define performance acceptance criteria, design dynamic test scripts and scenarios, and coordinate test execution.
- Execute and manage performance tests, analyse results, and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Define and track testing metrics, processes, tools and reporting mechanisms to ensure effective delivery governance.
- Work closely with product owners and development teams to resolve performance issues and assure quality of test deliverables.
- Drive increased levels of test automation and promote reusability of test assets such as scripts and data sets across projects.
- Maintain and baseline the NFT test strategy, updating it in line with changes to scope, schedule, risk profile or delivery model.
- Provide input into resource planning, effort estimation and budgeting for performance testing initiatives.
- Mentor team members, support capability development, and contribute to recruitment planning in collaboration with test leadership.
- Communicate proactively with IT operations, developers and product teams, escalating risks and issues where required.
- Deliver regular and ad-hoc status reporting in line with agreed methodologies, milestones and service levels.
Who you are
- An experienced performance testing practitioner with strong understanding of Telecom technology stacks and enterprise delivery environments.
- Confident in using load and performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter and SOAP UI across multiple protocols.
- Experienced in CI/CD environments and cloud-based infrastructures and applications.
- Skilled in performance test scripting, execution, and detailed analysis of non-functional requirements and volumetric data.
- Technically proficient with working knowledge of C, Java, VB macros, basic SQL and shell scripting to customise and enhance test automation.
- Knowledgeable in Java/JVM architecture, including garbage collection, class loading, thread dumps, and database performance analysis (Oracle and SQL Server).
- Experienced in application and infrastructure monitoring using APM tools such as HP Diagnostics, CA Wily, Dynatrace or AppDynamics.
- Able to translate complex performance results into clear technical and business insights.
- Familiar with supporting tools such as Fiddler, Firebug, HAR and Lighthouse (advantageous).
- A collaborative communicator with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable working in multicultural, matrix environments.
- Fluent in English, adaptable to change, customer-focused, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Willing and able to travel to Europe intermittently, as required.
