About this Role

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps professional with strong expertise in cloud environments, automation, monitoring and platform reliability. This role focuses on supporting Vodafone services through robust DevOps practices, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability. The individual will work across infrastructure and application layers, handling incident management, proactive monitoring, and continuous improvement within a 24/7 operational model.

What you will do

 

  • Support and operate Vodafone services and underlying DevOps components
  • Define and implement monitoring strategies aligned with KPIs to ensure service availability and performance
  • Proactively monitor systems to identify anomalies and resolve issues before impact
  • Manage incident troubleshooting across application and infrastructure layers, collaborating with project teams
  • Implement backup and restore strategies and ensure operational readiness
  • Support software rollouts and deployments using appropriate automation and release strategies
  • Handle PBI processes including resolution, coordination, and reporting
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support based on defined support models

Who you are

 

  • Experienced in Unix/Linux environments with working knowledge of Java
  • Strong expertise in shell scripting and Python scripting
  • Proficient with GitHub and GitHub Actions for change control and automation
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm
  • Familiar with AWS cloud environments including setup, scripting, and management
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques
  • Understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, or NoSQL databases such as Influx, PostgreSQL (Timescale), or MongoDB
  • Skilled in monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, or Instana
  • Experience in data analysis tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace
  • Good understanding of web technologies including HTTP, SSL, headers, APIs, and IP concepts
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes, particularly Incident and Problem Management
  • Familiar with configuration management and identifying security vulnerabilities (e.g. Qualys)
  • Exposure to Kafka/Redpanda cluster deployment and management
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience working in cross-cultural and Agile delivery environments
  • A proactive, quality-focused individual with a continuous improvement mindset
