About this Role

We are seeking a skilled Teradata Database Administrator to maintain and optimise Teradata environments supporting Vodafone Group’s key business applications. This role involves ensuring database configuration accuracy, managing performance and stability, and supporting migrations and production checks. The individual will also handle incident resolution, performance tuning, and provide proactive recommendations to enhance system reliability.

What you will do

  • Maintain Teradata environments supporting critical business applications.
  • Ensure correct database configuration and document all infrastructure changes.
  • Resolve incident and problem tickets, and fulfil service requests from first-level support and other teams.
  • Support migration of new or updated software and perform production checks.
  • Manage system performance, stability, and reliability.
  • Focus on performance tuning and share best practice recommendations.
  • Publish daily, weekly, and monthly status reports for users and IT stakeholders.
  • Provide support for scheduled activities, including release support and production changes.

Who you are

  • In-depth knowledge of Teradata architecture.
  • Experience in Application DBA and Operations DBA tasks such as user management, space management, access grants/revoke, and DDL/DML reviews.
  • Hands-on experience with backup and restore using DSA utility.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Python scripting.
  • Strong customer-facing and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise tasks efficiently with attention to detail.
  • Proactive attitude and readiness to take initiative.
  • University degree in full-time education.
  • Up to 2 years’ experience as a Teradata DBA.
  • Understanding of ETL and Data Warehousing concepts.
  • Nice to have: Teradata Vantage Certification.
