About this Role

We are seeking a Cloud Economist to join our team at VOIS. This role focuses on managing cloud financial operations and optimising costs across multiple platforms. The individual will play a key role in building and scaling a Cloud Finance Management (FinOps) practice, ensuring efficient utilisation of cloud resources while maintaining financial accountability.

Who are you

  • A professional with 8+ years of hands-on experience in cloud services and infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Skilled in understanding pricing models, billing constructs, and platform ecosystems.
  • Experienced in IT finance and passionate about cost optimisation.
  • A strong communicator with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating across diverse teams.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and scale a Cloud Finance Management (FinOps) practice from the ground up.
  • Analyse cloud usage and costs, providing actionable insights to optimise expenditure.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to align financial strategies with business objectives.
  • Utilise data visualisation tools and scripting languages for reporting and automation.
  • Implement and manage AWS cost management tools such as Cost Explorer, Budgets, Savings Plans Recommendation Engine, and Reserved Instance Planner.

What skills you need

  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their financial models.
  • Expertise in FinOps principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Microsoft Excel) and presentation software (PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI) and scripting languages (Python).
  • Relevant certifications such as FinOps Certified Practitioner, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, or AWS Certified Cost Management.
