About this Role

We are seeking a highly skilled individual to provide second-line support for Packet Core and IMS technologies, ensuring the availability, stability and performance of mobile data services across 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G and Wi-Fi. The role focuses on operational excellence, incident resolution, proactive service assurance and the delivery of strategic projects within Vodafone’s mobile data network. This position offers strong exposure to next-generation technologies including 5G SA, Cloud, Automation, Containerisation and CI/CD methodologies.

What you’ll do

Deliver new products and services by defining support requirements, testing new elements and ensuring stability during deployment.Lead change management activities, including scheduling and implementation of planned work, sometimes outside business hours.Resolve service and system failures by supporting incident management, executing root cause analysis and ensuring timely restoration of services.Conduct proactive health checks, routine maintenance and improvement initiatives to enhance network reliability and performance.Liaise with external support partners, ensuring permanent fixes and SLA compliance.Share knowledge across teams through mentoring, training and documentation.Monitor KPIs, troubleshoot performance concerns and protect service availability.Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve customer-impacting issues and drive continuous improvement.Support your manager by acting as a technical focal point for operational queries and high‑priority escalations.Work on mission-critical systems such as GGSN, SGSN, SPGW, MME, Diameter Gateway, PCRF, PCEF, RADIUS and Access Control Filters.

Who you are

Strong knowledge of Packet Core systems, standards and call flows.Skilled in troubleshooting, statistical analysis and mobile network concepts.Experienced in Linux/Unix administration and packet‑switched network technologies including Routing & Switching, TCP/IP, BGP, HTTP, Diameter, MPLS, Radius and GTP.Proficient with Wireshark and familiar with network security techniques including IPSec and firewalls.Demonstrates excellent communication, time management and a growth mindset.Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics or Computer Engineering, with 10–15 years’ experience in Mobile Data or Connected Services.Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP preferred, along with exposure to VMware platforms and Ericsson/Cisco Packet Core products.Experienced in operational support for complex, mission‑critical systems and large installations.
