About this Role

We are seeking an Enterprise Data Warehouse Operations Engineer to support Application Operations L2 services within the AO Engineering team. This role focuses on managing EDW, data warehouse, ETL, BI and database operations, while providing technical SME guidance across service lines. The role involves supporting platform stability, scalability and uptime in a distributed production environment, working closely with offshore and onsite teams, stakeholders, vendors and customers. The role is based in Pune, India and includes 24x7 production support responsibilities.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and support AO Engineering activities for Application Operations L2 services across EDW, data warehouse, ETL, BI and database platforms. 
  • Act as a single point of contact for offshore and onsite teams, enabling effective coordination across service lines. 
  • Manage incident and service request activities, problem analysis, configuration changes, health checks, housekeeping, triage, fault tracking, batch processing and interface management.
  • Support release, deployment and operational readiness activities, including knowledge transfer plans, documentation needs, access planning, sessions and shadowing.
  • Drive platform scalability, stability and uptime in a highly concurrent and distributed environment. 
  • Identify automation opportunities and lead service improvements to enhance operational KPIs and reduce operational effort. 
  • Prepare and execute project plans for upgrades, uplifts and new functionality to ensure operational readiness. 
  • Lead technical discussions for engineering transformation and contribute to IT transformation projects. 
  • Support capacity planning, hardware assessment and technical roadmap creation for the product landscape. 
  • Participate in periodic operational meetings covering performance, SLA/KPI tracking, issues, escalations and service enhancements.
  • Manage communication during major incidents, including war-room coordination and alignment with support groups.
  • Build EDW, database, BI and ETL skills across the AO Engineering pillar through coaching, knowledge sharing and technical guidance.

Who you are

  • You have strong knowledge of data warehouse, ETL, BI, database, SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX and cloud concepts. 
  • You bring hands-on experience with ETL and BI products, preferably including Informatica and Talend. 
  • You have working knowledge of UNIX environments, including Solaris and Red Hat Linux, along with shell scripting and basic Python. 
  • You understand database administration concepts, query tuning and application configuration management. 
  • You have experience with observability and monitoring tools such as ELK stack, Kibana and Grafana. 
  • You can support telecom technology environments and understand end-to-end telecom business processes, especially BSS/OSS. 
  • You have strong operational, analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management and project management skills. 
  • You have experience in production support, incident management, service request management, release support and operational governance. 
  • You are comfortable working in a 24x7 production support environment. 
  • You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or business; MCA or project/programme management experience or qualification is preferred.
