About this Role

We are seeking a skilled and collaborative data engineering professional to design, build, and operate reliable data pipelines that support secure and high-quality data delivery. This role focuses on enabling robust data ingestion, transformation, validation, and monitoring, while contributing to operational excellence and supporting issue resolution within a cyber-aware environment.

What you’ll do

  • Design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and validation of data.
  • Develop automated data quality checks and validation frameworks to ensure trustworthy and consistent data delivery.
  • Create and maintain scripts (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate repetitive data checks and operational workflows.
  • Monitor data pipelines and systems, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain service reliability.
  • Support root cause analysis for production incidents related to data processing and delivery.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to onboard datasets and align on requirements and constraints.
  • Contribute to maintaining secure, resilient, and compliant data environments aligned with cyber security expectations.
  • Assist in defining processes and procedures for system maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Who you are

  • Relevant 6yrs to 8yrs experience in data engineering or DataOps, with a strong understanding of data pipeline development and operations.
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Python and Bash, with the ability to automate workflows effectively.
  • Skilled in implementing data quality assurance processes, including automated checks, monitoring, and validation.
  • Comfortable working within environments that prioritise security and reliability, particularly in cyber-focused contexts.
  • Capable of supporting root cause analysis and resolving production-level data issues.
  • A collaborative professional with strong stakeholder engagement and cross-team communication skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP), data tools (e.g., Elastic Stack), or visualisation solutions (e.g., Kibana) is advantageous.
  • Exposure to automation tooling, workflow orchestration, or DevSecOps / ITOps environments is beneficial.
