About This Role
We are seeking a skilled Teradata Developer to join our BI team supporting the UK BI AD project. This permanent role is based in Pune, Bangalore, or Ahmedabad and involves working with Teradata systems, utilities, and UNIX environments. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in data engineering and performance tuning, with a strong grasp of SQL and Agile methodologies. The role includes vendor coordination, system optimisation, and supporting production migrations.
What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain ETL jobs using AbInitio MDWP and other tools.
- Optimise complex SQL queries and manage test documentation.
- Build and manage data load/unload routines using Teradata utilities.
- Support software migration and perform production checks.
- Publish regular status reports for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with vendors for issue resolution and system fixes.
- Maintain Teradata environments supporting key business applications.
- Drive performance improvements through system reviews.
- Ensure accurate database configuration and documentation.
- Contribute ideas for system enhancements and innovation.
Who you are
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Teradata development and SQL.
- Strong understanding of Teradata architecture and utilities.
- Proficient in UNIX and ITIL processes.
- Experience with Agile squads and testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of Shell scripting or Perl is desirable.
- Familiarity with SOX regulations is a plus.
- Holds a B.E/B.Tech/MCA/MCS degree.
- Teradata certification is essential; ITIL certification is desirable.
- Effective communicator with stakeholder management skills.
