About this Role
What you’ll do
- Participate in design and architecture for development projects in Unix and SQL.
- Deliver responsibilities from requirements capture to high-level and low-level design, including performance tuning.
- Write, debug, and fine-tune queries and Unix shell scripts.
- Execute scripts and SQL queries, manage sandboxes, and perform version and access management.
- Triage and participate in root cause analysis of data migration issues and implement code fixes.
- Identify bottlenecks and optimise migration processes.
- Monitor production environments, perform health checks, and ensure defect-free deliverables.
- Escalate or interact with relevant teams for resolution of service requests.
- Support SLA fulfilment and compliance with standard processes and practices.
Who you are
- 2–3 years of experience in Unix and SQL production support projects.
- Strong conceptual and practical knowledge of Unix, Shell scripting, and Oracle PL/SQL syntax.
- Familiarity with data warehouse concepts and ETL features such as high performance and parallelism.
- Knowledge of ticketing tools (e.g., Remedy) and ITIL processes for incident and change management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in a diverse and sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise effectively, and deliver results under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Flexible to work in 24/7 rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
