About this Role

We are seeking a skilled Unified Communications and VoIP Operations Engineer to provide second-line operational support for Cisco Unified Communications and Voice over IP solutions serving global enterprise customers. This role is responsible for incident resolution, root cause analysis, service availability, customer onboarding, technical change implementation, and identifying opportunities to automate operational activities. The position offers the opportunity to develop deep technical expertise and grow into a recognised subject matter expert within a global technology environment.

What you’ll do

  • Provide end-to-end second-line technical support for unified communications services and associated data centre infrastructure.
  • Diagnose, investigate and resolve customer-reported incidents within agreed service levels.
  • Act as a technical escalation point and coordinate with technology vendors to support issue resolution.
  • Plan, assess, test and implement service changes while ensuring platform stability and service continuity.
  • Onboard new customers into the production environment through configuration, testing and inventory updates.
  • Monitor signalling traffic and platform performance, analyse trends, and recommend improvements to service quality and key performance indicators.
  • Support installation, configuration and service ramp-up activities for network platforms.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify and implement automation opportunities that improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, operational procedures, knowledge repositories and inventory databases.
  • Contribute to maintaining service availability targets and reducing incident volumes and resolution times.

Who you are

  • Experience in implementation and incident management with a primary focus on VoIP, SIP, Session Border Controllers, cloud technologies and enterprise networking.
  • Advanced knowledge of technologies such as GCP, PowerShell, Python, automation, telecommunications networks, NGINX and SBC platforms.
  • Good understanding of SIP, IMS, Linux administration and SQL.
  • Experience with operational and monitoring tools such as Remedy, Netcool, Palladion and ScienceLogic.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous learning and keeping pace with evolving collaboration technologies.
  • Graduate degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience.
