Role Purpose: The Global Payroll Lead is responsible for the global delivery of payroll across all markets. The role involves managing the Local Payroll Managers, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee monthly pay as well as the compliance with local regulations, vendors relations and handling complex payroll issues. The Global Payroll Lead will also drive the future payroll strategy in terms of Payroll System and Service Delivery, ensuring the most effective payroll provision for Vodafone Globally. This role will oversee the set up of a payroll service delivery line for shared operations ready to offer payroll as a service.
Key accountabilities:
- Manage and mentor local payroll managers, including training, performance evaluations, and career development.
- Overall accountability for global daily payroll operations, accurate processing of payroll in each market and escalation points for issues or discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with all payroll and tax laws are met globally
- Manage relationships with global external Payroll vendors
- Collaboration with IT and Corporate Centre on the future payroll system strategy and vendors
- Driving the creation and execution of a global payroll strategy
- Supporting the change management associated with any payroll delivery changes in local markets
- Effectively managing global payroll budget and the business case for global strategy implementation
- Accountable to ensure the correct controls and audits are in place across payroll globally
Who you are
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
- Experience of leading large global payroll teams
- Experience of implementing payroll systems
- Experience of working with a range of different payroll service delivery models
- Experience creating a global payroll strategy and transformation project
- Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Proven experience in global payroll leadership
- Proficiency with payroll system implementations and service delivery models (ideally experience with SAP payroll)
Key performance indicators:
- Creation of and execution against a global strategy (strategy in place and roll out plan for each market executed)
- 100% accuracy in all areas & processes of payroll
- Reduction in overall payroll budget and cost for payslip
Budget owned: Budget for Global payroll provision and global payroll internal teams
Direct reports: 8 - 10 direct reports across the globe
