About this Role
We are seeking a Workflow Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Camunda and BPMN-based workflow automation to join the Vodafone Network Operations Digital function in Pune. This role focuses on designing, implementing, optimising, and deploying workflow automation solutions that support Zero Touch Operations across 2nd Line Network Operations teams.
The successful candidate will work closely with process experts, operational teams, and technical stakeholders to define Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), automate operational workflows, and integrate workflow engines into day-to-day operational processes. Camunda is the primary workflow platform for this role, complemented by technologies such as Python, Groovy, NETCAM, analytics solutions, and software development frameworks.
What you’ll do
Design, develop, and implement workflow automation solutions using Camunda as the primary workflow engine and BPMN 2.0 standards.
Translate business and operational requirements into scalable workflow designs and automation building blocks.
Optimise and simplify operational processes to improve automation adoption and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with 2nd Line Network Operations teams to identify automation opportunities and integrate automated workflows into operational processes.
Define and contribute to Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) for workflow automation initiatives.
Deliver automation solutions within Agile delivery frameworks, including SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.
Support process discovery, workshops, interviews, and documentation activities to understand operational requirements and process dependencies.
Contribute to workflow lifecycle management, including development, testing, deployment, enhancement, and maintenance.
Participate in problem identification, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and continuous improvement activities.
Produce and maintain process maps, workflow documentation, technical documentation, and progress reports.
Support the wider Zero Touch Operations strategy through workflow automation and operational transformation initiatives.
Who you are
Experience within Telecom Network Operations, ideally in a 2nd Line operational environment.
Strong knowledge of workflow automation concepts, process orchestration, and BPMN 2.0 standards.
Demonstrable expertise in Camunda 7, with knowledge of Camunda 8 considered advantageous.
Experience working with Python and Groovy scripting.
Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies, including SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.
Good analytical, problem-solving, listening, questioning, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and translate business requirements into technical workflow solutions.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Proven commitment to continuous learning, self-development, and professional certifications.
Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence.
Familiarity with Git, GitHub, or GitLab repositories.
Good software development and coding skills.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, MIS, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience within a technical operations environment.
