Salary: £26,300 (non-London) and £28,940 (London), plus annual performance bonus and VodafoneThree benefits

What you’ll do 

 

You’ll join our Managed Engineering Services (MES) team which sits at the heart of VodafoneThree’s technical excellence, delivering hands‑on engineering expertise, proactive network management, and end‑to‑end service assurance for some of our most strategic enterprise customers. 

   
As a Networking Engineering apprentice, you’ll support VodafoneThree’s delivery of cutting‑edge telecoms infrastructure across the SPEN (Scottish Power Energy Networks) estate.

 

You will: 

 

  • Install, maintain, and fix vital telecoms systems that keep SPEN’s substations and networks running safely and reliably.
  • Handle fibre, copper, RF and IP-based communication systems confidently.
  • Support planned works, manage reactive faults, and respond to emergencies.
  • Complete configuration, testing, and documentation to a high standard.
  • Work as one team with site leads, our Network Operations Centre, Project Managers, and contractors.
  • Lead with safety, permits and electrical procedures followed every time.
  • Take pride in your kit, ensuring tools, test gear, and your vehicle are always inspection‑ready. 

 

Alongside your day-to-day role, you'll study toward a SCQF Level 8 Network Engineering apprenticeship, delivered by one of our trusted training partners. 

 

Who you are   

 

  • You put safety first, always making smart choices and keeping yourself and your colleagues safe.
  • You enjoy figuring things out, whether that’s solving problems or learning new technical skills.
  • As this is a field‑based work, you’ll need a clean driving license, be comfortable travelling as needed with a flexible approach to working hours.
  • Will ideally hold SCQF Level 6 qualification(s) such as Highers or equivalent by September 2026.
  • Must meet UK Government apprenticeship levy funding eligibility requirements.

*Field based 

 

As a field‑based member of our team, you’ll be out where the action happens. You’ll travel across your region, adapt to different environments, solve problems on the ground and help keep our customers connected. You’ll bring flexibility, a willingness to travel, and the confidence to work independently in dynamic, real‑world settings. This role involves being on-site at least four days a week, with occasional out‑of‑hours work. It also requires travel to customer sites all of which are in Scotland and occasional travel to our Glasow Office, and Centre of Excellence in Airdrie for team meetings.
