About this role

We are seeking a Cost Planning Specialist to support Vodafone Business Group portfolios by ensuring effective financial planning, cost control, and governance across complex, multi‑country product portfolios. This role plays a critical part in enabling informed investment decisions by providing accurate forecasting, financial insights, and budget assurance while working closely with Finance, Lean Portfolio Management, Technology, and delivery stakeholders.

What you’ll do

Partner with Lean Portfolio Management and portfolio budget owners to maintain an accurate and realistic full‑year outlook aligned with approved plans and accounting standardsControl portfolio budgets in line with governance approvals, identifying and communicating risks and opportunities to FinanceManage end‑to‑end project accounting activities including forecasting, commitments, month‑end reconciliation, SAP budget setup, and variance analysisEnsure alignment between budget trackers, SAP actuals, commitments, and projected spendConsolidate and deliver regular and ad‑hoc financial reporting for Finance, LPM, and delivery stakeholdersReview monthly CAPEX and OPEX positions across product portfolios, providing insights, trends, and recommendations on spend performanceParticipate in monthly portfolio syncs to assess delivery progress, scope changes, and commercial impactEscalate significant cost movements to Commercial Governance to support robust business case evaluationCollaborate with Portfolio LPMs on quarterly strategic portfolio reviews, challenging investment decisions through data‑driven analysisContinuously identify opportunities to simplify, standardise, and automate cost planning processes

Who you are

An experienced finance or cost planning professional with strong analytical and data interpretation skillsConfident working with portfolio‑level CAPEX and OPEX budgets in complex environmentsProficient in SAP Finance & Accounting and advanced ExcelKnowledgeable in accounting cost treatment principles and financial governanceComfortable working in matrix organisations with virtual, cross‑functional teamsA clear communicator with the ability to present insights to senior stakeholdersExperienced in IT delivery, business transformation, or PMO environmentsFluent in English, both written and spokenHolds a relevant university degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related disciplineAgile, project management, or finance certifications (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, PRINCE II, PMI) are advantageous
