About this Role
What you will do
Middleware and integration operations
- Own the operational health, availability, performance, resilience and supportability of Oracle SOA Suite, OSB, WebLogic and WCC platforms.
- Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex middleware, integration, service orchestration and content-management incidents.
- Govern critical integration flows, messaging frameworks, service orchestration processes and enterprise content services.
- Maintain service-level commitments across middleware and integration platforms.
- Lead capacity planning, performance optimisation and technology lifecycle activities.
Incident, problem and service management
- Lead P1/P2 major-incident recovery and coordinate troubleshooting across application, infrastructure, database and network teams.
- Lead root-cause analysis, corrective actions and known-error management to reduce recurring disruption.
- Maintain SLA and KPI performance across Incident, Problem, Change, Service Request and operational-risk processes.
- Establish proactive support practices focused on resilience and reduced service downtime.
- Conduct post-incident reviews and translate findings into continual-improvement actions.
Service transition and operational readiness
- Lead due diligence, knowledge acquisition, service transition and operational takeover.
- Coordinate shadowing, reverse-shadowing and knowledge-transfer activities.
- Establish operational-readiness requirements covering documentation, monitoring, runbooks, access management, escalation procedures, capacity planning, security controls and disaster recovery.
- Own early-life support and stabilisation of transitioned services.
Platform governance and administration
- Monitor and maintain the operational reliability of interfaces, APIs, web services, message flows and enterprise integrations.
- Manage Oracle WebLogic domains, clusters, managed servers and application deployments.
- Support Oracle SOA composites, BPEL processes, Mediators, Adapters and OSB services.
- Administer and support WCC repositories, content workflows, storage utilisation and service availability.
- Perform environment validation, deployment verification and patch-coordination activities.
- Identify performance degradation, integration failures and bottlenecks and coordinate appropriate remediation.
- Maintain middleware compliance with applicable security and audit requirements.
Automation, observability and continual improvement
- Automate health checks, deployment verification, service validation, housekeeping and operational reporting using Shell Scripting, WLST, SQL and relevant automation technologies.
- Develop proactive monitoring, dashboards and alerting using enterprise observability platforms.
- Apply operational insights and AI-driven approaches to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Use service trends to reduce Mean Time To Restore (MTTR), repeat incidents and manual operational effort.
- Improve alert thresholds, event correlation and proactive issue detection.
Stakeholder and technical leadership
- Partner with Business, Enterprise Architecture, Service Management, Infrastructure, Database, Security, Application and Vendor teams.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to L2/L3 support engineers.
- Support knowledge management, cross-skilling and succession planning.
- Facilitate operational reviews, governance forums and service-improvement initiatives.
- Maintain clear stakeholder communication during outages, service changes and transition activities.
