Role Purpose/Business Unit:

 

To provide the analytical and technical expertise required to meet assurance demand across products, services and systems for initiatives across all stages of the Assurance solutions delivery process, including analysis, design, build, testing, acceptance and transition to business operations (“operationalisation”). A technically capable analytical specialist who combines business understanding, data analysis and process improvement skills to design and implement assurance solutions.

 

The incumbent operates cross-functionally, engaging with internal teams and broader business units to deliver assurance solutions aligned to operational and centralised demand requirements. The role combines quantitative capability and technical proficiency with business understanding to enable the translation of requirements into effective assurance solutions.  Delivered solutions are data-informed, address controls, processes and automation and utilise AI-enabled capabilities. The role supports the effective transitioning of solutions to business operations, ensuring initiatives are embedded in business operations to achieve the identified outcomes, strengthening revenue protection and operational integrity.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Data analysis, modelling and interpretation to identify and address risk, leakage and assurance opportunities.
  • High-level business and system process modelling to support scalable assurance and control frameworks. Process analysis and redesign to improve assurance effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Supporting development of automated and AI-supported assurance solutions. 
  • Quality and assurance management across delivery pipelines.
  • Collaborate constructively with stakeholders to achieve required outcomes.
  • Relevant reporting. 
  • Identify and assess business risks, control weaknesses and assurance opportunities through data and process analysis to inform requirements, solution design, build and operationalisation of Billing Management Assurance controls.
  • Translate business requirements and project changes into well-articulated assurance solutions designed to address identified risks and achieve identified outcomes.
  • Adhere to the Business Assurance Framework and other standards and processes. Generate high quality artefacts, including requirements, design, standard operating procedures, acceptance, business hand-over.
  • Support the development and adoption of advanced analytical and other technology-enabled capabilities, such as machine learning, automation and AI, to improve assurance effectiveness and drive efficiencies. Provide clear, data-informed reporting as required.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

  • Matric.
  • 3 years Bachelor’s degree /Diploma in mathematics, statistics, data science, engineering or related field is essential.
  • Honours advantageous.
  • Good level of SQL, Python and Excel (3+ years).
  • Experience in assurance, data analytics, process improvement or related disciplines (3+ years).
  • Knowledge of process modelling and automation technologies.
  • Exposure to machine learning and AI advantageous.

  • Engagement and influencing: Good interpersonal, facilitation, communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • AI and Digital Enablement – advantageous, not essential.
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify, evaluate and implement technology, automation and AI opportunities that improve team performance, operational efficiency and business outcomes.
  • Creates an environment that encourages innovation, experimentation, continuous learning and responsible adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Leads teams through evolving operating models and technology-enabled transformation, building capability and readiness for future workforce requirements.
  • Tracks and delivers measurable business outcomes from digital, automation and AI initiatives through effective prioritisation, governance and benefits realisation.
  • Demonstrates AI fluency and literacy through the ability to effectively use, evaluate and govern AI-enabled tools and solutions, applying them responsibly to improve business outcomes, productivity and decision-making.
