Role Purpose:

The EHOD Digital, VAS & Devices is responsible for defining and leading Vodacom DRC’s digital services, value‑added services (VAS), and device ecosystem strategy, with the objective of driving digital revenue growth, customer engagement, and network monetization.
The role oversees the end‑to‑end digital ecosystem, including digital content platforms, lifestyle services, the Vodacom Super App, and device enablement, ensuring seamless integration between connectivity, content, devices, and payments.
This position is accountable for positioning Vodacom as a leading digital lifestyle and device‑enabled platform in the DRC market, while building scalable revenue streams and strong partnerships with global and local digital players.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Digital, VAS & Device Strategy Leadership
•    Define and execute the Digital, VAS & Devices strategy aligned with Vodacom’s digital transformation agenda.
•    Lead the development of an integrated digital and device ecosystem combining content, services, devices, payments, and lifestyle platforms.
•    Identify new growth opportunities across digital services, smart devices, and emerging technologies (AI, gaming, ed tech, health tech, creator economy).

B. Digital Content, VAS & Devices Portfolio Management
Oversee the full lifecycle of:
•    Digital content platforms (Video, Music, Gaming)
•    Education, Health & Lifestyle services
•    Digital advertising and e commerce integrations
•    Consumer devices and digital enablement tools supporting service adoption
Define and optimize monetization models:
•    Subscriptions
•    Bundled data & device offers
•    Freemium and transactional models
•    Advertising supported services
Ensure all services and devices are optimized for mobile first and low bandwidth environments.

C. Vodacom Super App & Digital Platform Monetization
•    Lead the commercial strategy and roadmap of the Vodacom Super App.
•    Position the Super App as the central digital lifestyle hub integrating: 
o    Content
o    Mobile money
o    Commerce
o    Loyalty & rewards
o    Device enabled experiences
•    Define and track KPIs: 
o    MAU
o    Engagement
o    In app revenue
o    Service and device adoption

D. Digital Revenue & Network Monetization
•    Drive digital revenue growth through VAS, content, and device enabled services.
•    Link digital and device usage to data consumption growth and ARPU uplift.
•    Identify upsell and cross sell opportunities across customer segments.
•    Support monetization of network investments through content and device ecosystems.
E. Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Development
•    Build and manage partnerships with: 
o    Global OTT platforms
o    Local and regional content providers
o    Device manufacturers and distributors
o    EdTech, HealthTech, Gaming and AdTech partners
•    Negotiate commercial, licensing, and revenue sharing agreements.
•    Promote local digital content and device innovation to strengthen differentiation.

F. Customer Engagement & Digital Growth
•    Drive digital engagement initiatives through: 
o    Gamification
o    Influencer marketing
o    Social media integration
o    Device led adoption campaigns
•    Develop digital loyalty initiatives tied to content and device usage.
•    Embed daily digital habits among customers.
G. Performance Monitoring & Analytics
•    Establish and track KPIs including: 
o    MAU
o    Digital subscriptions
o    Engagement time
o    Digital & device driven revenue
o    ARPU uplift
•    Use analytics to optimize customer experience and service performance.
H. Cross Functional Leadership
•    Work closely with: 
o    Segments & Product
o    Technology & IT
o    Network
o    CVM & Marketing
o    Legal & Regulatory
•    Ensure scalability, compliance, and strong go to market execution.

 

Autonomy & Decision Making:

Without prior approval:
•    Propose new digital, VAS, and device partnerships
•    Launch pilots, campaigns, and tactical initiatives
•    Initiate platform and device optimization experiments
With prior approval:
•    Approve long term strategic partnerships
•    Launch major platforms or device programs
•    Commit to large scale investments

Required Profile:

Education
•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Digital Media, Telecoms, Business, Marketing, or Technology
•    MBA is an advantage


Experience
•    10+ years in telecom, digital platforms, media, or technology
•    Proven experience in: 
o    Digital services monetization
o    Platform ecosystems
o    OTT & device partnerships
o    Consumer digital growth
