Role purpose

The Executive Head of Margin Assurance (Revenue Assurance & Cost Assurance) Boost product profitability with comprehensive portfolio insights and Margin Assurance, through a thorough understanding of the network architecture per product/service, assuring no revenue or cost leakages occur.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership :

Leadership  (people and stakeholders) 


• Contribute to the strategic vision for World Class Revenue and Cost Assurance (MA) processes.  Ensure this is communicated and agreed by key stakeholders. 
• Manage the implementation and of World Class MA, working closely with Global Process leaders and other key stakeholders. 
• Contribute to business planning for the management of the MA process and staff.  

Performance management (CI and diagnostics)

• Provide strategic direction, guidance, technical support in the execution of RACA activities.
• To provide end-to-end cost and revenue assurance from source through to Retail billing within a controlled environment across all Revenue Streams.  
• To actively participate in MA forums to grow knowledge and skills and disseminate the knowledge gained to the MA team and the OPCO’s
• Monitor performance and outcomes from RACA activities and feedback to Margin Assurance Committee.

Compliance and control

• To establish the policy and procedures and build a framework in which MA team will be able to operate effectively 
• To establish an MA committee to effectively drive the MA strategy and address operational matters with relevant stakeholders.  
• Maintain a strong control environment, ensuring compliance to all relevant Group policies.  To engage with Audit Firms on revenue finder in order to drive the value added initiatives from an MA perspective.
•Ensure that Revenue assurance standards, SOX, Internal Audit, RACA policies and procedures have been adhered to.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience :

Job Knowledge:


• ERP operational knowledge
• SOX, IFRS and local GAAP knowledge
• Strong working knowledge of Revenue Assurance and the relationship of Revenue Assurance systems in supporting an organization.

Job Related Skills:
• Strong Communication and Business Partnering skills.
• Skilled in using analytical, statistical, dashboard and/or business intelligence packages.
• Strong people management
• Project management
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, especially Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong administrative and organizational skills

 

Job Experience:
•  Minimum 5 – 8 years relevant experience: financial experience spanning across various financial processes, of which 2 years must be in a managerial/leadership role.
• Working with SQL and demonstrated 
• Experience as a System Administrator (Advantage)
• Strong background in building Revenue Assurance Analytics in a telecoms environment through complex queries and reports.
• Experience in the telecommunications billing environment, revenue assurance processes, systems and KPIs and Business objects
• Previous experience of RAID (Revenue Assurance Integrity Driller) and its databases will be an advantage
• GRAPA experience would be advantageous

Teechnical / professional qualifications required:

Educational Background:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Science, Telecommunications, Financial Services, or a related field


Experience:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a Margin/Revenue Assurance environment
• Strong background in building assurance analytics through complex queries

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in data mining and data analysis.
• Experience with programming languages such as SQL and Python, and other analytical tools.

Core Competencies:

• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to investigate, analyze, validate, and quantify revenue/cost incidents 
• Knowledge of Margin Assurance standards, SOX, Internal Audit, and MA policies and procedures 

Leadership and Management Skills:

• Strong executive leadership qualities, including the ability to lead change, manage people, drive results, and build coalitions
