Product and Solutions-Fixed Specialist
Job Purpose
The Product and Solutions Specialist –Fixed is responsible for the end-to-end management and commercialization of fixed connectivity solutions tailored to the needs of enterprise customers within the Vodacom Business Unit (VBU).
This role ensures the development, positioning, and continuous improvement of fixed product offerings to drive revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and competitive differentiation. The specialist acts as the subject matter expert on fixed enterprise solutions, supporting go-to-market execution, sales enablement and cross-functional collaboration with technical, marketing, and commercial teams to deliver compelling value propositions and customized client solutions.
This includes maximizing profitability from existing offerings while also supporting the development of innovative new solutions tailored to VBU clients. The role requires leveraging existing product ideas and generating new concepts based on market insights, customer feedback, and a deep understanding of the telecom and B2B landscape.
The incumbent must demonstrate a strong blend of commercial acumen and technical knowledge, possess a strategic vision, and can translate that vision into actionable, revenue-generating products. A key aspect of the role is staying close to the market — understanding customer pain points and identifying opportunities for growth through innovative fixed connectivity solutions.
This role involves cross-functional collaboration, working closely with technical teams to define product release requirements and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify new fixed product opportunities based on market trends, customer needs, and technology evolution.
- Define fixed product features, pricing, and positioning aligned with enterprise customer requirements and go-to-market strategies.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and pricing strategies.
- Contribute to GTM strategy and planning for fixed products, including launch readiness, internal training, and campaign input.
- Work with marketing and commercial teams to develop product collateral, sales kits, and value proposition messaging.
- Support sales teams in designing tailored fixed connectivity solutions for enterprise clients.
- Collaborate with pre-sales and engineering teams to develop technical solutions that align with customer specifications.
- Support in training manager by providing training content on fixed product offerings, capabilities, and use cases.
- Monitor competitor offerings, pricing trends, and emerging technologies in the fixed connectivity space
- Provide regular insights to inform product strategy and maintain competitive positioning.
- Monitor product KPIs (usage, adoption, revenue, churn) and propose improvements.
- Gather insights from Sales and CVM teams to refine and enhance offerings.
- Ensure product documents (features, SLAs, FAQs) are kept up to date.
- Participate in customer feedback analysis and incorporate findings into product enhancements.
- Collaborate with Sales, Technology, CVM, and Finance to ensure delivery of product value.
- Support promotional campaigns and customer training on fixed products.
Core Competencies & Experience:
- 2–3 years of experience in product development and management
- Experience in telecom operations, B2B commercial environment or technical sales is a plus.
- Strong understanding of fixed telecom technologies: DIA, IPVPN, MPLS, SD-WAN, fiber (FTTx), leased lines.
- Experience in managing the full product lifecycle from concept, business case development, design, launch, and ongoing improvement.
- Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering value and solving business problems.
- Understanding of pricing models, profitability metrics, and revenue drivers for B2B fixed products.
- Ability to communicate complex technical solutions in simple business-oriented terms.
- Skilled in creating and delivering sales collateral, product documentation, and executive presentations.
- A Team player with strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiarity with Agile and/or waterfall methodologies for product development.
- Analytical mindset with experience in performance tracking and market intelligence.
- Team player with cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with data tools is an advantage.
