Key Accountabilities

• Transactional Cash Management;
• Manage payments and encashment within the Purchase to Pay and Order to Cash process;
• Execute payment files, direct debit files and manual payments;
• Manage and resolve discrepancies;
• Build, maintain and operate payment / collection systems;
• Manage payment authorization.
• Execute payment within acceptable timeframe to ensure “Paid on time” KPI is adhere to;
• Reconcile automatic bank statements to the highest degree;
• Follow up on aged items on bank and E-money reconciliation. Keep reconciling items on reconciliation to a minimum.
• Design posting rules for the Payment System into the General Ledger;
• Prepare the 90 day forward cash forecast (incorporating weekly trading information);
• Support the CFO & Head of FP&A to deliver cash targets;
• Execution of all standard controls for Transactional Cash Management and retention of audit evidence of the completed controls
• Liaise with the Group reporting team on Cash management
 

Core Responsibilities Management

1. TECHNICAL /FUNCTIONAL SKILLS 

I. Accounting & compliance 
• To ensure that the Accounting and Information provided for decision making is accurate, timely and relevant. 
• To ensure Financial statements are compliant with IFRS and other reporting requirements.
• Ensure that all Vodacom and Vodafone compliance requirements are met: SOX, Internal Audit, External Audit.
• Manage relationships between Fin Ops and auditors 

II. Intra-company Management: 
• To ensure that the intercompany process is streamlined to allow accurate accounting and effective balancing of transactions 
• Compliance with the billing, settlement -and reconciliation terms of the Group Intercompany Policies 
• Manage relationships between TCM and all other internal stakeholders involved in the intercompany process 

III.    GL Processing: 
• To ensure that the activities required in terms of month-end closure are effectively planned, responsibilities allocated, communicated to stakeholders and monitored by the TCM team to ensure overall reporting deadlines are achieved 
• Management of all activities related to Vodacash ensuring transactions are processed timeously into the General Ledger 

IV.    Accounts Reconciliation
• To ensure that all accounts reconciliations are performed in the Cadency tool for the Vodacash and Vodacom entity following Vodacom and Vodafone compliance requirements on the Accounts reconciliations. 
 

Leadership Skills

The Manager TCM will act as role model in management and leadership: 

• Working closely with our Business partners to enable a transition to the new EVO TCM process. Moving through the phases of: Stabilisation, effectiveness and efficiency. Deliver world class. 
• Actively participate in critical meeting within Finops division and ensure involvement in driving key successful factor to meet stretch deadline for reporting 
• Support the team in resolving complex operational control issues 
• Ensure that there are no blockages to the provision of the future capability requirements 
• Ensure completion of all reconciliations on time and within Cadency tool

Develop a superior quality team: 

• Ensure that he recruit, develop and retain the right people for Transactional cash management 
• Provide business vision, clear definition of roles, responsibilities, and individual goals and performance objectives;
• Set and measure KPIs for the team 
• Motivate, and provide ongoing technical/management training and career counselling to retain the necessary professional staff required to support the TCM environment. Also establish succession plans for team 
• Provide regular, constructive feedback to maximize positive impact of individual team member’s talent 
• Promote a ‘passion for accuracy’ and ‘continuous improvement’ mentality 
 

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

• University degree in finance, economics and/or business administration. 
• Preferably Master’s Degree or MBA 
• Fluency in English and French Language. 
•Accountancy qualified  
• 5 + years’ experience in transactional operational environment  
• 5 years’ leadership experience – essential  
• End-to-end knowledge of TCM activities
• SOX, IFRS and local GAAP knowledge  
• Ability to communicate at all levels 
• ERP operational knowledge  
• Good understanding of HFM functionalities
