The M-Pesa Enterprise Specialist is responsible for driving the acquisition, growth, and retention of MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) and Government customers by selling M-Pesa Payments and Collections solutions. The role focuses on developing business opportunities, managing strategic relationships, and increasing digital payment adoption through tailored M-Pesa solutions that improve efficiency, transparency, and financial inclusion.

 

 Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, company policies, AML, KYC, and risk management standards.
  • Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, and customer documentation
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, competitor activities, and industry developments.
  • Engage Ministries, Departments, Agencies, Local Authorities, and State-Owned Enterprises to promote digitization of payments and collections.
  • Support the implementation of government revenue collection, disbursement, and payment digitization projects.
  • Drive wallet activity, transaction growth, and product utilization among assigned accounts.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional M-Pesa services.
  • Identify, prospect, and acquire new MSME and Government customers for M-Pesa payments and collections services.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue, transaction volume, and customer acquisition targets.

 

Competencies

  • Knowledge of digital payments ecosystem and mobile money services.
  • Understanding of MSME and Government operational processes.
  • Consultative and solution-selling skills.
  • Sales pipeline and CRM management.
  • Business case development and proposal writing.
  • Contract negotiation and stakeholder management

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Professional sales or digital financial services certifications are an added advantage.
  • 3–5 years' experience in Enterprise Sales, Digital Financial Services, Banking, Fintech, Telecommunications, or Payments Industry.
  • Proven track record in B2B sales and account management.
  • Experience selling payment, collection, or financial technology solutions to businesses and government institutions.
  • Experience managing corporate and public sector relationships.
