What you’ll do
Role purpose:
We are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure & NFV/CNF Engineer to join the Technology Operations area who will be responsible for daily operations, maintenance, and support of the organization on-premises cloud infrastructure and Network Functions Virtualization Infrastructure (NFVi).
You will work with innovative technologies and play a key role in ensuring IT Operations efficiency and reliability.
Key accountabilities:
• Manage and maintain on-premises infrastructure and services, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability through SLO’s.
• Collaborate with the VNF/CNF onboarding teams for automated integrations and support network function infrastructure in cloud environments.
• Work closely with Planning/Delivery teams to ensure that Infrastructure platforms and services are designed with "operability" in mind.
• Perform regular monitoring of health, performance and capacity of infrastructure (physical and virtual), including but not limited to: Datacenter hardware, vSphere, vCenter, ESXI hosts, virtual machines, to identify and address bottlenecks and improvement areas.
• Optimize resources to improve performance and reduce costs.
• Ensure configurations are aligned to best practices and compliant with organizational security guidelines and industry standards.
• Manage infrastructure hardware and software lifecycle management (hypervisor, computing, storage, networking - physical or virtual).
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve issues and incidents including performance problems and system outages.
• Provide technical support for service requests related to VNFs and CNFs infrastructure and associated services.
• Ensure tickets received are solved as per their urgency and importance, within the agreed SLAs.
• Develop and implement solutions to enhance monitoring, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting tasks, including automations to improve efficiency.
• Ensure accurate reports on cloud infrastructure capacity, performance, and incidents.
• Ensure the high availability, reliability, performance, optimization and security of the cloud infrastructure and related services,
• Drive improvements and enhancements at scale while automating processes and works closely with various IT teams to support business objectives.
What we are looking in you:
• Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• At least 3+ years of work experience in administering, supporting and troubleshooting Data Center infrastructure solutions (compute, storage and networks).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure physical hardware (datacenter computing, storage and network).
• Experience with troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, identify the root cause, and develop effective solutions.
• Strong experience with VMware based virtualization technologies and services: vSphere, vCenter, ESXI, VMware Telco Cloud Platform and Aria Suite.
• Deep understanding of virtualization, cloud native platforms and VMWare Telco Cloud Platform components, namely: vCloud Director, vSphere, VMware Aria Suite, NSX-T, Telco Cloud Automation and Platform (TCA/TCP) and VMWare Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG).
• Experience with container management platforms (Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of ITIL practices and methodologies.
• Proficiency in cloud management and monitoring platforms and tools.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication and analytical skills.
