What you’ll do

Role purpose: 
The Senior Specialist: Commercial Strategy and Insights plays a pivotal role in driving the commercial strategy of Vodacom Business through comprehensive analysis, pricing strategy, and market insights. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven recommendations that support business growth and profitability.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership: 

•       Commercial Analysis: Analyse commercial performance, including sales trends, product performance, and customer behaviour, to identify opportunities for growth and optimization;
•    Pricing Strategy: Develop and maintain pricing models and strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability;
•    Market Insights: Conduct market research to identify industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities, providing insights to guide strategic decision-making and product development;
•    Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics tools to extract insights from large datasets, creating comprehensive reports and dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders;
•    Strategic Planning: Collaborate with business leaders to align commercial strategy with broader business objectives, providing input on product development and sales strategies
•    Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, finance, and product development teams to ensure consistent and effective implementation of pricing and commercial strategies.
•    Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness in commercial analysis and pricing    


Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

•    Experience in commercial analysis, reporting, or business intelligence roles;
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities. 
•    Strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau), and excellent communication skills; 
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey findings to diverse audiences


    Must have technical / professional qualifications: 

•    Bachelor's degree in Business administration, Information Technology, Finance, Economics, or related field; 
•    Work experience in Telecommunications / IT Industry;
•    English proficiency;
    
Key performance indicators:

•    Revenue Growth: increase in revenue due to commercial strategies and pricing models;
•    Adoption rate and usage metrics for reporting tools and dashboards.
•     Improvement in commercial performance metrics over time      
•    Profit Margin: impact of pricing strategies on profitability, typically through gross or net profit margin.
