Role Purpose/Business Unit:
- The Complex Programme Manager is a critical role responsible for the successful mobilisation and delivery of large-scale, complex technology projects to key customers. This individual will lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple product lines, and navigate complex stakeholder environments to ensure projects are delivered on time through milestones, within budget, upholding contractual obligations, and to the highest quality standards
- Works closely with the various segment practices and channels to drive Customer Success across Vodacom Business
Your responsibilities will include:
Sales support & Planning
- Support in winning new business for Vodacom by confidently presenting Vodacom’s client success framework to potential Customers.
- Act as support to the Bid Team on incorporation of Vodacom’s client success framework elements as required for strategic clients proposal submission; and provide input to Solution Architects regarding the creation of the Statement of Work.
Programme Mobilisation & Planning
- Develop comprehensive programme plans, including scope, schedule, budget, risk management, and communication strategies.
- Establish clear project governance structures and processes.
- Lead the mobilisation of project teams, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
- Define and manage project dependencies and interdependencies.
Programme Delivery & Execution
- Oversee the execution of complex projects, ensuring adherence to project plans and milestones.
- Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and changes, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular status reports to stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and delivery best practices.
- Ensure that a clean hand-over to the Customer & Service Management team at the close of each programme is facilitated.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes and methodologies.
- Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects
Stakeholder Management
- Managing Stakeholders: Strategic management of stakeholders to achieve success in the market. Builds collaborative partnerships and alliances for market success.
Networking and Collaboration
- Leverage a comprehensive network to facilitate project delivery and resolve issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Provide specialised and technical support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of functional and organisational objectives
- Manage the multiple internal & external stakeholders across the landscape
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Relevant Degree
- PRINCE2 Practitioner, ITIL4, MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) Practitioner or equivalent experience
- 5+ years’ work experience in a program/project management or related environment, with:
- Knowledge of IT service management frameworks
- Extensive experience in complex solutions deployment
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills
Technical Competencies
- Business development skills – unlocking the opportunity based on customers’ business requirements
- Team player, strong influence and relationship management skills
- A self-starter with a determination to succeed, balanced with appropriate tact and diplomacy
- Ability to work in an international and/or distributed virtual team
- Strong communication and decision making skills – ability to balance conflicting interests
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, SharePoint, MS Project, Primavera.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
- Familiarity with project challenges and solutions in government-related and private sector projects.
