Role Purpose/Business Unit:
We want to make buying and using our business products simple and easy for customers. To make this happen, our products need to be launched quickly and effectively, based on Business customers’ needs.
The Scrum Half is responsible for developing and leading a high-performing, multi-discipline squads to launch new products and/or enhance existing products, across a range of segments and channels.
You will be a qualified and experienced Scrum Master. You are highly collaborative, organised and a strong communicator with the ability to influence all levels. You are required to facilitate Agile delivery, remove impediments, and ensure continuous flow of value aligned to Vodacom’s SAFe operating model within Core Network Engineering.
You will have a track record of coaching and managing individuals and/or teams to succeed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitate all Scrum and SAFe ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Stand-ups, Reviews, Retrospectives, PI Planning, ART Syncs).
- Identify, track, and resolve impediments, escalating systemic issues where required.
- Ensuring the path is clear: removing blockers, securing capacity, providing seamless communications and working to clarify the sprint backlog.
- Ensure accurate Jira usage, backlog hygiene, and delivery transparency through metrics.
- Manage cross-team dependencies and support stakeholder alignment. Ensuring deliveries with quality, innovation and automation at the heart.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- A Diploma or Degree in Engineering.
- SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) or equivalent certification.
- Professional Scrum Master (CSM/PSM) (advantageous).
- Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
- Understanding of Agile and SAFe delivery frameworks.
- Exposure to Products & Services, Intelligent Networks, IT within a telecommunications environments (essential).
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
- Experience working within a Telecoms Product environment preferred.
- Facilitation excellence and structured communication.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Stakeholder engagement across cross-functional teams.
- Data-driven mindset with Agile metrics understanding.
- Experience creating Program Dashboards in programs such as Power BI would be a great advantage.
