Role Purpose/Business Unit:
The Principal Specialist is responsible for managing the procure to pay responsibilities for the South Africa Business, including our subsidiaries.
The manager of P2P will lead to a team to perform sub-processes of the End to End procure to pay responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with defined operating procedures, policies, SOX, compliance and business partner service agreement.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff and there will be a close relationship with the Global Process Owner/leaders and the Shared Services center P2P process managers.
- Leadership in risk management, internal controls and operational efficiency in Procure to Pay and T&E for Vodacom SA.
- Ensure Month end responsibilities and reporting is completed accurately and in line with MEC deliverables.
- Oversight, cross functional collaboration and continuous improvement on the assurance frameworks within the Source to Pay.
- Managing/overseeing the Company’s travel and expenses process
- Identify, assess and mitigate financial risk by ensuring accuracy and integrity of the balance sheet through meticulous reconciliation and verification.
- Effectively drive action plans on aged/unidentified balances with account owners/Head of Finance
- Develop process compliance frameworks: follow up on identified control and audit risks as well as review and adopt relevant policies to reflect Vodacom Way principles, tax and legal statutory requirements. Deliver control review activities in accordance with SOX regulations and Vodacom Group Policies.
- Coordinate with internal auditors, SOX, Group Risk, ensuring smooth and efficient audits and timely resolution of audit findings.
- Liaison with external, internal and SOX auditors and ensuring timely issue resolutions
- Drive and deliver automation initiatives
- Building and maintaining relationships with internal FinOps stakeholders as well as Local Market and Shared Services Partner
Your responsibilities will include:
Process and controls:
- Responsible for coordinating the FinOps processes and activities, including identifying gaps, and driving changes where necessary.
- Ensuring the core business policies and processes, governance frameworks are in place.
- Drive process design and control environment with IT and Business regarding operational processes including process design of new products to ensure the integrity of the controlled environment thus limiting risk to the organization at large.
- Team Management
- Ad-hoc resolution of queries received from ME and EHOD FinOps
Performance Management and Reporting
- Enhance financial processes to provide real time insights.
- Regularly monitor and report on performance against KPIs, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
- Analyze data and identify trends and identify opportunities for service optimization.
- Champion a data driven culture within finance department by promoting the use of data analytics and insights.
- Review reports to ensure accuracy and alignment with expectations based on business knowledge, also to ensure reporting has adequate information for financial recording and review purposes
Execution of strategic projects
- Primary liaison for internal and external audit
- Lead the prioritization and implementation of the control environment in new product design and system development and enhancements.
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, fostering a deep understanding of their needs and expectations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders identify and drive the development of solutions that would cater to their business needs.
- Effectively communicate the value and impact of service delivery initiatives.
- Proactively address stakeholder concerns and ensure their satisfaction with service quality.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Accounting or related degree (Essential)
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in a financial environment (Essential)
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
- SAP ERP knowledge
- HFM knowledge
- Project planning
- Change Management
- Ability to explain complex information clearly and simply
- Knowledge of Financial Operations in a Shared Services centre.
- Communication -written and oral
