Role Purpose:

 

  • The purpose of the role is to deliver accurate, timely, and actionable reporting and insights that enable strategic decision-making, performance tracking, and continuous improvement across all Vodacom Business (VB) ventures. The Principal Specialist: VB FBP Venture plays a critical role in transforming complex financial and operational data into meaningful intelligence, ensuring stakeholders are equipped to make informed decisions that drive growth, operational efficiency, and customer value.
  • This role supports both tactical and strategic decision-making through robust financial reviews, budgeting and forecasting, and business partnering. It ensures that ventures operate in alignment with VB’s strategic objectives

Your responsibilities will include:

 

1. Reporting & Insights

  • Deliver robust and timely FBP reporting
  • Drive effective Opex management.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant balance sheet management

 

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Coordinate and manage the budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational plans.


3. Business Partnering & Commercial Support

  • Act as a strategic partner to Ventures, providing financial guidance and commercial insights.
  • Support pipeline management by evaluating revenue opportunities and tracking performance against targets.
  • Monitor and report on in-life project profitability, identifying risks and opportunities for margin improvement.
  • Deliver profitability analysis to inform growth and “go-to-market” strategies.
  • Oversee the debtor management process, ensuring timely collections, credit risk mitigation, and working capital optimization.
  • Assess and manage funding requirements for ventures, ensuring alignment with capital planning and investment priorities.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience
  • 3 years’ experience in FBP or financial reporting
  • Technology and Telco experience would be an advantage
  • Technical/professional qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Actuarial science, or applied mathematics – essential
  • Postgraduate qualification or finance professional qualification be an advantage e.g. CIMA, CA (SA), MBA – advantageous
