Role Purpose:

 

  • Actuarial: To provide actuarial support to the Head of Actuarial on all matters relating to life and short-term insurance pricing
  • Data Analytics: to ensure that all decision making is data-driven by analysing the performance of products, campaigns and initiatives; assisting the actuarial and product managers in developing future products that future-proof the business

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Mentor the pricing team, providing guidance to Junior Actuarial Analysts
  • Develop and refine pricing models to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
  • Support pricing strategies for both new and existing life and short-term insurance products.
  • Supporting the product managers in developing new products and propositions.
  • Data analytics and experience monitoring:
  • Detailed analytics at customer, channel and product level are required to drive performance, product development, to prioritise strategic roadmap (developments).
  • Engage with clients and internal stakeholders, effectively communicating complex technical insights.
  • Contribute to structuring and negotiating new deals to optimise business outcomes

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

  • Mathematical, Statistical or Actuarial degree
  • 5-7 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on life or short term insurance pricing
  • Experience managing analysts would be advantageous
  • Sound numerical, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Highly energetic, innovative and pro-active individual, with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

 

  • Experience in an actuarial pricing role essential
  • Analytical & creative problem-solving skills.
  • Good business acumen and understanding of the role of the capability in contributing to business value
  • Customer-centric focus, with an entrepreneurial and ROL mindset
  • Ability to function with a high degree of autonomy
  • Comfortable with a range of Actuarial pricing techniques
  • Strong time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Excellent relationship building and influencing skills, with the ability to contribute towards an inclusive team culture
