Role Purpose/Business Unit:

 

To ensure operational effectiveness, service quality, and compliance with all applicable regulations. The role is critical in maintaining high standards of service delivery, supporting technical infrastructure, and fostering strong relationships with law enforcement agencies.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

Regulatory Compliance and Information Disclosure

  • Process and fulfil lawful disclosure requests in accordance with applicable legislation and company policy.
  • Validate warrants, subpoenas, court orders, directives and requests prior to disclosure.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard sensitive customer information.
  • Ensure all requests processed meet regulatory, legal, and governance requirements.

 

Operational Service Delivery

  • Process law enforcement assistance requests accurately and within agreed service level agreements.
  • Support urgent and emergency requests from authorised agencies.
  • Participate in the 24-hour standby roster.
  • Support the achievement of departmental KPIs and service delivery objectives.
  • Adherence to standby and emergency support requirements.

Analysis and Investigation Support

  • Analyse communication-related information and network data.
  • Support investigations by providing accurate communication-related information.
  • Interpret telecommunications data and provide guidance where required.
  • Support lawful interception and associated operational activities.
  • Assist with complex requests requiring specialised analysis and interpretation.

 

Court and Expert Witness Support

  • Prepare evidentiary documentation for court proceedings.
  • Represent Vodacom as a subject matter expert when required.
  • Provide testimony relating to communication-related information and telecommunications data.
  • Assist judicial officers, investigators and prosecutors in understanding evidence.
  • Support legal proceedings through accurate and professional presentation of evidence.

 

Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and other relevant institutions.
  • Collaborate with internal technology, legal, regulatory and security teams.
  • Act as a trusted representative of Vodacom in interactions with external stakeholders.
  • Support awareness and training initiatives where applicable.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

  • Matric / Grade 12 (Essential)
  • Diploma or Degree in:
    • Information Technology
    • Engineering/Radio Planning
    • or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years relevant experience in a telecommunications, law enforcement assistance, compliance, investigative, legal support or related operational environment. 

 

 

The successful candidate will possess a strong compliance and governance mindset, with the ability to manage sensitive information, build trusted stakeholder relationships, and operate effectively in a demanding environment. The role requires eligibility to obtain Top Secret Security Clearance from the State Security Agency (SSA), national travel as required, and flexibility to work outside normal business hours to support operational and legal requirements. Strong integrity, discretion, adaptability, and stakeholder management skills are essential.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Proficiency in computer applications (Essential)
  • Radio Planning & Optimisation knowledge (Essential)
  • Basic system and GSM knowledge (Essential)
  • IT knowledge and technology management skills (Preferable)
  • Analytic, problem solving and reporting (Preferable)

 

Advantageous

  • Telecommunications network knowledge.
  • Understanding of GSM, LTE and mobile network architecture.
  • Experience in legal disclosure or investigative support environments.
  • Experience providing expert evidence in court proceedings.
  • Power BI, reporting and automation experience
